For me the most beautiful sunsets I have seen are while anchored or moored out on the sailboat. I also experienced amazing sunsets while working in Newport RI several years ago and in Key West while vacationing there one year.

A while ago, here at the river, in silence, some morning fog hovering above the water while the sun slowly unfolds, colors of orange and red at the horizon, mirrored in the smoothness of river´s surface. It makes me fall silent, sometimes still, in awe. Thank you for this question and for all your replies, dear friends.

I live in a hollow and the sun does not “come over the hill” until around 10:30 in the morning..so we never see a sunrise. In the evening..we see the sun going down behind the hill but we never experience the beautiful colors of the sunset. In the winter when we travel outside of the hollow- we are in awe almost every day. Our last sunrise and sunset that we experienced was in Jacksonville, Fl…watching the Atlantic Ocean and all of the beauty…what a Blessing. We have a small cabin about an hour and a half from our home that is up on a ridge…and seeing the sunrise and sunset there is one of the reasons we go there…A great question today!

    The desert purifies the soul.
    Palo Verdes.
    The sound of laughing hyenas.
    Wild burrows.
And the smog coming from Japan makes for spectacular orange sunsets.

I love sunrises and sunsets and
I try to stop and take notice everyday.
I feel lucky every time I get to experience
one. They are also a marker of time and a
reminder of the gift of sight, and all the senses.
They also help me feel present and aware of
    my place in the universe.

It’s been awhile but just reading the question reminds me of sunrises and sunsets I experienced while living in Arizona. Also, sunrise from my sister’s back porch here in NE Kansas. The vivid colors were so uplifting and filled me with awe…such beauty.

It’s been cloudy lately but that doesn’t mean it’s not happening.

I see every sunrise and most sunsets. Here in the San Luis Valley we are surrounded by 13,000 to 14,000 foot peaks that result in many beautiful sunset. sunrises. The same goes for the moon. The east range, the Sangre de Cristo’s (in English Blood of Christ) were given that name by the Spanish settlers because in the winter the snow capped peaks glow red at sunset. I always enjoy the show the earth gives us and it helps to remind myself of the impermanence of everything in the universe.

I’m going to witness one this morning since I’m off and look forward to the pink and orange in the sky and the big bright yellow sun that will follow. Sunrises and sunsets always fill me with awe.

I am watching a beautiful sunrise this very moment, bringing with it a fresh start, a new day full of endless possibilities and opportunities if I use it well.

Exactly what I’m doing this morning…many trees blooming in response to these warm sunny days here in the East. My prayer is to do the same this Easter week.

I witnessed a beautiful sunset with my family. We were all together and felt so comforting and freeing at the same time.

Every day I like to greet the fresh new day with Bella (my dog). From the pitch black to the glimpse of the first light to the glorious arrival. The array of colours is vast and unique. I get overjoyed with the array of colours I have never seen before and the uniqueness of every single day. Even on overcast and rainy days, there is always a spectacular show.

I leave for work early in the morning, before sunrise, so I usually do not see them. I see beautiful sunsets from my backyard, or at the beach when I visit my Dad and step-mother. The colors are so pretty and makes me smile. Seeing sunsets makes me feels connected to Nature and appreciate all her beauty.

Oh interesting! Just yesterday I was having some minor surgery and while lying in pre-op, my nurse drew my attention to the beautiful scarlet sunrise shining in the row of high windows on the other side of the surgical prep suit. And even though I was facing in the right direction to see the brilliant colors myself, I was, understandably, preoccupied with my own care at that moment. That moment, and those colors, instantly became part of my overall care.

How touching to experience such natural wonder of awe in a moment of vulnerability, possibly having inspired positive vibes for the upcoming medical procedure. It feels to me as if luck and God´s rays have been present to ensure all will be well for you. Blessings be with you, dear Kevin.
