My Mother’ s friend (A family friend growing up) who became mine after my Mother died when I was age 40. She has been a huge support over the past 23 years to me. She is now 86, Kind in every way. Helped me and babysat my children when they were younger and got to know them. Was extremely supportive to me when I was going thru my divorce and would invite the kids and I for family Holidays at times when my siblings and my father moved away or had plans with their extended families. I have learned a great deal of wisdom and kindness over the years from my friend and I kindly pay in forward with friends and family in my little world. She feels that she was also paying it forward in the many kindnesses my Mother showed her during their friendship.

It can be anyone. Someone putting a whole lot of care and attention into a coffee being made for me, the guy at the gas station who wishes me a cheery day, the lady who always gives me a broad smile when out walking Bella. And so many more.

I have a hard time answering this question. My current living situation finds me quite isolated and rarely able to interact with other human beings.

That is very hard, Lauryn. I live in a very rural area, and am isolated as well. I find comfort in the folks on this site and all the wisdom that they share every day. For me..I also have my two cats, and dog as companions. My husband…goes without saying. But often, I am lonely and sad. May we both find goodness in the world we are living in. Blessings.

Lauryn, I hope you find comfort in being on this site. I have also felt very isolated at different times in my life. I had to literally push myself to sign up for meet up walks/bike rides and library events.

One of the kindest people I know is my Cousin Lisa. She truly is a Saint walking this earth.
What I can learn from her is to strive to be a better version of myself. I am blessed to call her my family & my friend. ❤️
Thank you to All who made the Ultimate sacrifice.
    RIP🇺🇸🖤 Happy Memorial Day.

Yesterday while I was trying to replace the kitchen faucet I ran into trouble because plumbing is not my forte although if you know plumbing then you know everything fortunately my neighbor was too busy to come over and help me with that offering to give me a tool out of his toolbox knowing would be the right tool that I could do it myself I know I’m capable thankful for every time he’s come to my rescue nice to have a handyman with every tool in the world at their disposal Never hesitates to help me do things myself I feel so grateful for many neighbors but Bill is my number one kind people. what can I learn from this is that you don’t have to do everything by ourselves they’re always teachers in everything to learn from and I love all the answers here today have a good memorial day everyone in the USA thank you.

The couple that live next door to me. They are both 88 years old and still active. They know I live alone. They check on me regularly. They clear my sidewalk and driveway if it snows. They gather leaves out of my yard in the fall. I’ve only lived here 4 years so it’s not like we have had a life long friendship. They are just very good and very kind human beings.

I feel blessed to know so many kind people, and I can’t really imagine choosing the “kindest.” From family members to friends to acquaintances… I appreciate the light they share with me and everyone else, and I hope that I do the same for them.

A dear friend of the last 17 years. She was already to offer a smile and an open heart, not just to me but to everyone she encountered. She passed away a few months ago and I miss her terribly.

I see so many kind and generous folks. I have certainly benefitted by them throughout my life. Without naming a particular person I would say anyone who does ” onto others as you would have them do unto you” are the kindest people I know.

There are several folks I would define as kind. I think of them as I write and lift them in prayer and am grateful they’re in my life. Today, (USA), I lift in memory, those who served our country in all military branches unselfishly, and never made it back home. May they rest in peace, and not be forgotten. ☮️🇺🇸

Although many miles away from me…the kindest person I know is my sister in law….Louise. Louise gives to everyone a piece of herself. She has been treated for multiple myeloma for the past few years and never has she complained…She will be the one bringing someone some soup, or spend time with one in need. She has helped many children along the way…and now at 78 she is helping her daughter in her bakery…greeting people, making suggestions, always smiling and trying to make someone else;s day better…with nothing asked in return. When I was 16 and Louise 23 …she and my brother took me in…and they had 4 little one’s as well!! My heart is full of love for her.
Also…each and every one who comes to this space….always responds with kindness. I am Blessed to be here. Wishing everyone a wonderful day. I will try to live up to what I have learned from Louise and all of you here. Peace

One of my Irish group dancers-Maryellen. She always remembers my Mom’s birthday and the date she passed away. I received beautiful flowers on those days. She is so caring, kind, thoughtful, writes beautifully. I treasure our friendship and am grateful she is part of my life.

One of the kindest people I know is my longtime friend and spiritual director, a Catholic Sister whose wisdom has been an amazing gift for a very long time. (She is over 100 years of age!) I continue to learn/experience kindness from her and am so grateful to have her in my life.
