He is amazingly kind and wise and knows all! I love him so much, I enjoy his wisdom and kindness, as well as his support for me in the shadow of my younger brother. I hope I may hear his words for a long time to come, and that they may carry and guide me through life’s up’s and downs. I am eternally grateful for him. 1 Reply Mica8 months agoMicaMy dear kind one is an inspiration that I want to learn from 1 Reply Heather8 months agoHeatherMy husband is one of the kindest people I know. Presently, it is my host where I am stranded for how many ever weeks or months over my expected stay due to no-fly pandemic regulations. I am made to feel welcome. I am cared for fully in every way. I feel safe. These things are real gifts. However, I see that he is like that with so many people, on so many levels. I feel safe. These things are real gifts. However, I see that he is like that with so many people, on so many levels. What I learn from him is, he uses kindness as the go-to answer to all problems and people. At the same time, he does not put up with rubbish or freeloaders. He helps people in ways that help them succeed and then, in turn, expects them to do their part, to own their problems when able, and find eventual solutions. This is a very balanced and healthy way of being kind. It is a good model for me to learn from. Is it necessary? Thank you for the reminder! 5 Reply Paula8 months agoPaulaMy dear friend Ximena is one of the kindest person I know, my mother Carmiña, she is the kindnest person I know, she tough me to pray. 4 Reply Michele8 months agoMicheleThe Timoney Monday Nighter’s Irish dance group that I am part of. Born and raised in the Irish Catholic Church’s notorious orphanages and Industrial Schools system, he was subjected throughout to the most appalling sexual, physical and emotional abuse from his putative carers. He was never the recipient of kindness. When he eventually left the system he was illiterate and, as is common for those from his background, he began a life of conning and criminality and was incarcerated for a number of years....My dear friend, O.F., is the kindest person I know. Born and raised in the Irish Catholic Church’s notorious orphanages and Industrial Schools system, he was subjected throughout to the most appalling sexual, physical and emotional abuse from his putative carers. He was never the recipient of kindness. When he eventually left the system he was illiterate and, as is common for those from his background, he began a life of conning and criminality and was incarcerated for a number of years. While in prison he became an insatiably curious autodidact who helped his fellow inmates with personal and legal matters. He has since become a world-renowned expert in a rather arcane field, as well as being an activist for social justice. From his kindness and generosity to me and others, I have learned that a life of deprivation and cruelty does not necessarily quash an indomitable spirit, although I do recognise that, sadly, he is the exception rather than the rule. I conducted 12 Step meetings in prisons for many years and I saw first-hand the still drastic need for penal reform to give new value to the lives of prisoners. O.F. is a shining example of just such a possibiity. I worked for 10 years in some of the world’s worst prisons and truly value those who can change their lives in such drastic ways. Bless. Thank you for sharing with us Pollyanna and also for taking the 12-steps programs into prisons. 3 Reply Pollyanna Gladwell8 months agoPollyanna GladwellThank you for your comments Dusty Su. It was a privilege to be in the prisons in Canada where I was living. Now I’m in Ireland and there are no prisons near me, so I had to let that go. One of the few downsides to living here. I hope your stranded status changes soon. Even though your host sounds wonderful and you are an appreciative guest , I expect you will be grateful when these strange daze – I mean days! – are over and you can return to your own home. Blessings. 2 Reply Dusty Su8 months agoDusty SuThank you so much, so kind! I love Ireland. Stayed in Derry for 3 months some years ago. Helped take an Irish woman and her son home after we fought the legal system and abuse in Thailand. Bless. And yes, my own pillow will be great. 0 Reply UntamedCheetah8 months agoUntamedCheetahMy cousin Elizabeth. I finally called her yesterday and told her about my divorce, she was silent for a minute and then I realized she was crying with me. As we continued our conversation, she cried with me. It was one of the most healing conversations I have had over the past few months. I want to learn to practice that kind of empathy and kindness. There was no judgement, she didn’t ask questions, she just listened and cried and let me talk. 9 Reply Dusty Su8 months agoDusty SuBeautiful soul sitting with you on your walk through working out of your divorce. Bless. 0 Reply devy8 months agodevyPersonally I do not know a kind person per se but individuals such as the Dalaï Llama, Brother David and Mother Theresa exemplify kindness in their ways and words. They have given me guidance and help create kindness in myself so that I can spread it to the world around me. 4 Reply Kevin8 months agoKevinSadly, a few of the kindest people that I have ever known have passed away over the last several years. I made it my mission to learn from them every day. I can only hope that their personhood and way of being in the world has helped to shape the person I am today. Among several who are alive today, there is one person in particular that I feel is a particularly kind and compassionate person. I experience his kindness, and in so doing, the learning takes care of itself. 10 Reply Dusty Su8 months agoDusty SuThat is beautiful Kevin that you have let your friend’s legacy be a part of you and your way of being in your life.
