Not just ‘Who’, what where when, how, and sometimes why are examples of true humility too; but never Y2K- the purposeful non-prevention of stuff to steal astronomically more tax dollars and cafknching, like our being covided en masse, now. Have a blessed day 🙂 reality 1 Reply Vincent-Edward Ciliberti4 months agoVincent-Edward CilibertiBeing oneself, irrespective of the character is in my belief a sign of humbleness. 3 Reply Ed Schulte4 months agoEd SchulteThe question requires a bit more specifics If the person has to be in a specific physical body right now…then Pierre Pradervand, [email protected] If no specific body……then Mother Mary 3 Reply Mica4 months agoMicaBrother David comes to mind. And no one else is coming to my mind to displace Br. David. 3 Reply Ose4 months agoOseThe Dalai Lama was my first thought, too. When speaking and meeting people, perceived in the lectures available online, he truly lives it. 4 Reply Present Moment4 months agoPresent MomentEckhart Tolle 4 Reply Pollyanna Gladwell4 months agoPollyanna GladwellI came to recovery in a 12-step program from repeated humiliation and stayed out of humility. I was told that in this context, humility has the meaning of being teachable. Humility wasn’t a virtue I had ever experienced (or, truth be told, ever sought to experience!) but it was necessary to find it to do what I was asked to do – take the cotton wool out of my ears and put it in my mouth. Not forever, but for long enough to hear, to listen and to learn, and then be available to anyone who asked for help. I believe all those who are in any type of recovery, whether structured or self-directed, are accepting the challenge of making profound psychic changes in themselves and are examples of true humility. I feel that same need for humility when I am participating in this forum. I read, I think and I marvel at all of the lessons I learn here. And how I appreciate the responses yesterday to my post about my dear little dog, Puccini. I had to let him go today – with copious tears, but knowing it was the right decision. I could describe that feeling as humility as I believe its meaning also encompasses selflessness. The responsibility was mine – to make the best decision for his wellbeing and to be with him right up to the end. R.I.P. I’m sure you’re familiar with the Rainbow Bridge poem – it is so comforting. 1 Reply Pollyanna Gladwell4 months agoPollyanna GladwellThank you, Michele, for your sympathy and, especially, for pointing me to the Rainbow Bridge poem. I had never heard of it. I have read it now and it’s a beautiful image. And, as you say, it is so comforting. Blessings. 2 Reply Ose4 months agoOseDear Polyanna, your Puccini will be in your heart and with you. Your loving relation with your beloved dog and your so very kind accompanying him in his last days is so moving. I feel sad for you that you now had to let him go. Strength be with you these days and good friends alongside to soothe you. 2 Reply Pollyanna Gladwell4 months agoPollyanna GladwellThank you, Ose. Your heartfelt message is very comforting. And I had a wonderful outpouring of beautiful texts last night from friends who loved him too. He was a great character. Blessings. 3 Reply Hot Sauce4 months agoHot SauceThe Dalai Llama is a beautiful example of true humility. And I’m thinking of a couple of people who never feel they are “too good” to do the most humble jobs. They are always willing to do what is needed, rather than managing to take a lead job where they’re more likely to be widely recognized. Know what I mean? 3 Reply devy4 months agodevyBeing a parent can be a very humble job, wiping noses, changing diapers, and meeting a child’s every need for years. As already mentioned people like the dalaï lama, mother Theresa, Jesus Christ and brother David exemplify thé concept of humility. 3 Reply 333USA4 months ago333USAI agree with Antoinette.
