I have children who are 19-23 years old and just figuring things out. I don’t get much care in my life, as I am the one always calming and grounding others, so if I don’t calm and ground myself it doesn’t happen. Sometimes that’s difficult and I feel tapped out, so I am still trying to figure out balance. 11 Reply pkr10 months agopkrHolly in Ohio, I certainly understand. I struggle with the balance too. I am weary from being pulled in many directions & having to calm down many of those in my life. Sending you a big hug & peace. ❤️ 6 Reply Holly in Ohio10 months agoHolly in OhioA big hug back, pkr! Thank you so much for sharing that. We’ll figure it out. 3 Reply Palm10 months agoPalmI can relate too, thanks, Holly 4 Reply Holly in Ohio10 months agoHolly in OhioHugs to you, too, Palm. Thank you. 4 Reply Palm10 months agoPalm🤗 4 Reply Patricia10 months agoPatriciaI resonate with this, Holly…. I “semi” joke that I don’t feel part of the “sandwich” generation, so much as a “panini” — kind of hot-pressed from both directions. So I know what you mean about needing to take measures to calm and ground myself…. Thanks for that honest assessment. 7 Reply Linda10 months agoLindaLove this, Patricia! Panini generation, that’s us!! 4 Reply Holly in Ohio10 months agoHolly in OhioYou made me belly-laugh, Patricia, thank you for that! 😀 4 Reply Patricia10 months agoPatriciaSo happy I made you laugh. Thinking of myself as a panini often helps me to see my situation with humor (and even gratitude sometimes!) 4 Reply Holly in Ohio10 months agoHolly in OhioAgreed. Humor is sooooo important in life. I didn't realize that for the longest time, but I used to dog sit for a friend who was caring for a dog with PTSD, and she was trying to give the dog, as she put it, "a sense of humor." It is like a light went on for me when she said that and I realized that when anybody has been traumatized or been through a lot, humor is the first thing to go and we get brittle and serious, but also that humor helps us to heal and cope with difficult situations. After that time with the dog we were trying to heal, I had far more respect for how humor helps us all to cope and enjoy life. 🙂 Read More4 Reply Holly in Ohio10 months agoHolly in Ohio…..”panini”… I’m still giggling about that. 😀 5 Reply Mary Pat10 months agoMary PatWho would be our dog, Joy. What would be the ocean, trees, Nature in all her many forms, glory and magnificence….maybe Nature could be a who? And getting in touch and listening to my soul.
