I always was impressed by honest and decent personalities and tried to gain their friendship. 1 Reply GCharlotte10 months agoGCharlotteI have been fortunate to have a very real relationship with God that has offered a lot of inspiration leading me to a special passage. 1 Reply Malag10 months agoMalagMore than one wise person who showed me that what I thought was broken was whole. One of them lead me to the Leonard Cohen lyric that is at the heart of it. “Forget your perfect offering There is a crack a crack in everything That’s how the light gets in.” 4 Reply Tahsin Tabassum10 months agoTahsin TabassumNo one actually 2 Reply Hot Sauce10 months agoHot SauceKrishna, the Buddha, Laozi, Kongzi, Moses, Jesus, Muhammad, Socrates, and John Murray are all inspirational figures who provide examples of a life of personal spirituality, communion with the Greater Reality, and a life of spiritual leadership and universal love for every sentient being. 4 Reply Gloryus10 months agoGloryusDrika is one person who has inspired me to live my most authentiv voice. She values who I am and has been a model of authentic living. She sees me like few others do; ideosyncracies and all. She supports me when asked and notices when I don’t ask. She is wise. Ruth is another loving soul who celebrates my greatness and overlooks my foibles. Two amazing women who envelope me with their love and acceptance. Two very different women each who affirms me and creates a cocoon of warming love. 3 Reply sparrow10 months agosparrowIt’s hard to explain . . . I have been inspired to be authentic both by people I have loved and admired, as well as by people who have been cruel or made my life difficult. It’s easy to understand why the former would inspire me, but not so maybe by others’ hurtful ways . . . perhaps they inspire me to not be like them. 6 Reply Javier Visionquest10 months agoJavier VisionquestThe “petty tyrant”, those who challenge us are also reflections of our own divinity. Yes, the shadow is a powerfully revealing aspect of the human being. 3 Reply sparrow10 months agosparrowThank you,. Javier… your response means so very much to me… 1 Reply Pilgrim10 months agoPilgrimOne of the great gifts of my life has been that the people I needed (whether I knew it or not) came into my life at the right times, those who “saw” me, sometimes challenged me, always uplifted me and gave me courage to live life in authentic ways. (I wouldn’t have used that terminology way back when.) High on the list would be my daughters, parents and grandparents, and spiritual directors/friends. 3 Reply pkr10 months agopkrMany have inspired me, especially Spirit. Can you try again?” 6 Reply Ed Schulte10 months agoEd SchulteOther genuinely inspiring people …such as the “scaremongers”..,,,reported on here www.ctvnews.ca/health/coronavirus/you-re-not-alone-in-this-canadians-are-caremongering-through-the-covid-19-pandemic-1.4859369 Proving once again…..We is a “Me” with its “M” turned upside down. 4 Reply Mica10 months agoMicaWe is a “Me” with its “M” turned upside down. – Thanks, Ed! And now, more than ever, we need each other. We need each other for truth, for support and to feel less alone during a time that can honestly feel quite scary. “There are so many around the world who need support right now, who are working tirelessly to respond to this crisis behind the scenes, on the front line or at home,” the caption continues. “Our willingness, as a people, to step up in the face of what we are all experiencing with COVID-19 is awe-inspiring. They are who they are (blink, blink.) 4 Reply Ingrid10 months agoIngridMy life has had plenty of examples of those who have guided me in leading my most authentic life. Ironically, some of these nudges didn’t become apparent until years later when something said or done made them clear to me. We often don’t value certain gifts in our lives until we are ready to receive them. Our eyes are blind to their truths until they aren’t. You don’t know what you don’t know until you do. 6 Reply Hunter10 months agoHunterI'm still not sure that I am, and I'm over 70-- But thinking about it, I remember my old friend Ethel who was 94 when she died. I knew her as a "shut-in." (A wise friend of mine is saying "we're all shut-ins these days!") I was sitting with her in her little Senior Residence apartment and she was as usual watching the birds in her feeder and the rainbows her prism made on the wall, and she said, "Oh, every day is such a treasure!" I was young enough then so I couldn't quite understand that. I'm ...I’m still not sure that I am, and I’m over 70– But thinking about it, I remember my old friend Ethel who was 94 when she died. I also have a friend who loves me unconditionally (at least it feels that way.) She knows my passions & although she’s an atheist, she has offered me so much spiritual wisdom & is a part of my diaconal growth. This week she sent me a ying yang icon that says: Love everybody Take no s**t. This is the perfect mantra for me. I love & adore her and am ever thankful for her friendship. 4 Reply Mark Piper10 months agoMark PiperPeople of integrity have inspired me to live my most authentic life. Perhaps also a dash of interpersonal compassion accompanied by belief in their integrity: Nanny and Pappa, Joe Hesse, Dave Wallner, Sr Carol Rose Buirds, Sr. Sue Sanders, Sr. Joy Clough, my folks, my wife and my kids. Kids are great at integrity because they lack years of practiced hypocrisy. 4 Reply Michele10 months agoMicheleFamily, teachers, and co workers all have inspired me to live an authentic life.
