Who has not? It is each and everyone who, if related to people, through his or her being there inspires through both example and non-example, guiding to find truth which is one aspect of paving the path. Yesterday for example, a chance was offered to speak with a small group of dear people about vulnerability and about to integrate pain as well as happiness in one breath so to say. Any possibility where one can be there for others feels to me as a possibility to say thank you towards all who paved the path as well for me, like as well being with all who share here, sharing their path, leading us all back to heartยดs source.

My parents in the beginning but I do believe I have paved a lot of the path myself. Certainly I have support of friends/family/Therapy and groups like this when I feel I am not doing well and stuck in the dark. Thank you all again for your reflections, it has been very helpful to me.

I’m thankful for these daily reminders as the time to inquire what is the purpose of this human form of life, and to sin no more.
How can I ever repay the debts to the ancients? Sun, moon, air, water The jewels at nature hides within us only so that we can discover who we are.
I listenned to the 1976 Amherst sermon that brother David had spoken at the New York Gnostic Church and resonate with the teachings of the elders, the tree of wisdom, and the surprise of life.

The โ€œwayโ€, has never been โ€œpavedโ€ for me.
I have had to break trail myself. Of course
Iโ€™ve had some help along the way.
My first chosen family, a group of feral
teenagers, helped me early on, with
housing, jobs, and community. And as Iโ€™ve
gotten older, a few of them are still in my
life and are a real anchor. A few years ago,
after a life crises, I made a point of telling
them how important they were to me and
    how much I loved them.
And then, thereโ€™s my friend Jamie,
I met him a little over three years ago,
at my lowest point, and he showed
me, by example, a different way to live.
    A way of fearless caring.
I am so grateful for these people.
I wouldnโ€™t say they paved the way, but
have certainly made this journey a bit
easier and a lot more fulfilling.

When I think of “others” that have paved the way for me, my heart swells with gratitude! The ones I can name and those I can’t. I believe that teachers appear when I’m most in need.

When someone asks who has helped pave the way for me, I tend to interpret that as โ€œWho opened doors that helped me get to where I am now?โ€ Fr me that would include those that opened doors that helped me advance my career and those who opened doors that helped me grow spiritually. I think for the most part Iโ€™ve thanked them by passing it on. Even when itโ€™s something I learned from reading a book, I often recommend the book to others or give them a copy of the book. I do my best to tell others I appreciate them and to be there for them when I see a need. I also am reminded of a session with my mentor many years ago. I was lamenting how so many folks near and dear to me in my childhood failed to be there for me. His response was “But, Carol, you have always been there for you.” I think itโ€™s good to remember the power of our own inner strength and the importance of nurturing it and giving thanks for it.

Oh Carol your comment just made me cry. How I love the response of your mentor! “You have always been there for you” Wow! It hit me in the most beautiful way. Yes, I too have been always been here for me. A bit injured emotionally, but I did not realized that I have been here for me! I need to keeping healing the Me, I need to keep loving the Me, I need to be here for Me. So I can give and receive freely and with love and compassion. I thank you!

Thank you everyone:) Saturday we did our first 5K together – my son’s running group was sponsoring it so he was a volunteer and did not run it. She did great:) We had a delicious meal at Texas Roadhouse for dinner. Yesterday we all spent the day at the beach and again had yummy food – awesome Piรฑa colada’s and grouper. Today her and I are getting massages and then we’re going to Sugar Factory – another new dining experience. She leaves tomorrow. Grateful for these times.

A therapist, Amanda S. I was fortunate to be paired with for group therapy and one on one through NorthStar Transitions IOP (Intensive Out Patient) virtual program. She also had a few sessions with my wife and I. She was the person that suggested I look at Palouse Mindfulness’s MBSR (Mindful Base Stress Reduction) which I did and that course led me to this site. Although I finished the IOP June “22” I have continued on with bi-weekly therapy sessions with her. She also has a small private practice. I thank her each and every day through my sobriety and better mental state.

How wonderful to find a light to brighten our path with their wisdom and dedication. Prayers for all of you! Thank you for the Mindfulness MBSR, I just looked it up and I will be doing it tonight. Wow! I just started meeting in a group two weeks ago and this is what they are doing. Now I can learn to practice on my own and be able to be more comfortable in the group. I thank you for sharing! Life Changing for me! How I love this site, I learn and learn and learn.

I make it a practice to always thank people who help me. One phrase in particular, that I express routinely to all types of service workers and health care providers is, โ€œThank you for your work.โ€ These simple words, perhaps more than any other expressions of appreciation, appear to land gently on the hearts and ears of the receiver, and are words that they donโ€™t hear enough of.

I always look for a name tag and if one is not visible I ask. I have for as long as I can recall speak to cashiers and front desk folks by their name and thank them.

The list is long. There are big players like my parents and smaller ones like, say, a customer who said just what I needed to hear when having a ‘random’ interaction with them. Everyone is a teacher, so everyone helps pave the way. I’m grateful for them all. I thank the ones who are active in my life by loving them, being there for them, and telling them how much I appreciate them.
