I love learning. I am in Pitt’s Osher program and am right now listening on a class about procrastination and decluttering and boy do I need that. But ai also take lots of history classes and gardening classes. I am an IT profressional so learning IT stuff is important and information on health and wellness.

I really enjoy learning about history and different cultures. Recently we enjoyed African food at work during Black History month. I am fortunate enough to work for a company that I feel like I am the minority so I am constantly learning.

Like most of you, I want to learn from many people, I want to learn more about other world cultures, I want to learn about my ancestors, I want to learn more about my loved ones. Most of all I want to learn how to observe and master all of the layers of myself and dwell in the direct experience of the Center of Consciousness. I want to know how to wake up.

For one, the Squaxin Island people whose land I live on. They have a tribal and cultural center in a nearby community and I plan to go there someday. I’m reading about other Coast Salish people right now, in a collection of stories from elders of various tribes.
I’d like to learn more about my husband of nearly 17 years. He’s not given to a lot of introspection or sharing deeper feelings, especially disappointments, and he’s had those in his work life. The question yesterday about “loving well” comes to mind now. We love each other deeply, but do I always tune into that when I’m getting through the day and stop to truly listen? We both know I’m the more talkative of the two and I share what I’m thinking about. I use up more of the air space between us. When I try starting conversations on deeper internal topics he doesn’t always engage, so either I need to learn not to try for something he doesn’t want to do, or — wait, after 17 years you’d think I would catch on. Need to remember this particular learning.
As my two adult daughters move through life I continue to learn more about the women they’ve become, which is a joy.

Yes Barb, communications in intimate relationships can be challenging at times.

I like learning about people in general,
But no one specifically comes to mind.
    I am having coffee with a new(ish)
friend today, so it will give me an
opportunity to learn more about him.

I like to learn more about everyone who comes into my life or touches me in some way. How did they come to where they are now? What is their background? What are their hopes and dreams? People are interesting and everyone has their own story.

I’m currently attending the ZOOM course for facilitating gratefulness gatherings and enjoying learning about the process. The sessions are extremely inspiring and enriching.

I just searched who invented back scratchers (I have one on my desk and just used it, lol ). ‘Back scratchers were invented over 2,000 years ago. The origins of back scratchers can be traced back to ancient civilizations such as Egypt and China.’
I look forward to reading other entries today.
    Have a relaxing Sunday everyone:)

I am always interested in learning new things about most anything. Yesterday we went to Bandelier National Monument in Northern New Mexico. It is situated in Frijoles Canyon and is the location of some ancient cliff dwellings. Not as well known or as large an area as Mesa Verde cliff dwellings but interesting all the same. What I learned is the name of a squirrel I do not think I have ever seen before, but did yesterday, which inhabits the southern Rocky Mountains. It is an Abert’s squirl. The distinguishing feature is tufted ears. Think of untamed bushy eyebrows and you get the picture of their hairy ears.

I got a chuckle too. We have Eastern gray squirrels where I live in Olympia, WA, that have pushed out some of the native species. In looking up what kinds of squirrels I might see here I learned that we might have Douglas squirrels, which have tufted ears part of the year. I’ll be on the lookout for ungroomed squirrels on my next walk in the woods.

Truth of course! What is truth? It’s the most important thing I could learn in this very lifetime! Becoming truth is why we are all alive ! What could be more important or valuable than becoming the living existing truth while you are alive ? How else could I do it ? So grateful for meditation and letting go of my false self !

At the risk of sounding self-centered, ME. The deeper I look; the more questions arise. What does it really mean to love with all my heart, love with all my soul, love with all my mind, love with all my strength? How can I go about each day without entanglement? Yep, I’ve got a lot of figuring to do right here.

Oh Don, completely not self centered!! What a great post!! Thank you!! Yep!! you are not alone!! You have lots of company…me too!! I have a great deal of figuring out about myself…you think at this age I would be ahead of the game…Nope!! Have a great day!!

Yes, without growth in self awareness, we tend to react not respond to the gift of our own life.

Nothing self-centered about that reflection Don. I also need “a lot of figuring to do right here.” Thank you for this.

Hi Don! I have felt like that before too. What is helping and has helped is the method of finding wisdom from inside you. I have meditating for three years using this method of letting go of my false mind and it works. Here is the link for the over 350 centres all over the world . See what you think.
