I come here as often as I can remember. I participate in the work of Cynthia Jurs and her sangha on Mondays. Classical music really helps me connect with God. Rach 3 really helps. 2 Reply Antoinette1 year agoAntoinetteLet it be by The Beatles 3 Reply Malag1 year agoMalagNot resonating much with this question but I know a Leonard Cohen song moved me to be truly grateful for this person I inhabit, at a pivotal time in my life. “Ring the bells that still can ring Forget your perfect offering There is a crack, a crack in everything That’s how the light gets in” 3 Reply Michele1 year agoMicheleI don’t know why, but when I read the line ‘there is a crack, a crack in everything’ that made me think of the Liberty Bell, guess that’s the Philly in me:) 1 Reply Kristi1 year agoKristiAll the Hallmark movies. They remind me to look for the joy in our lives! Our scenery may not be as beautiful yet there is beauty everywhere you look! 5 Reply Don Jones1 year agoDon JonesJust too many to narrow it down to one. But if the song writers view is that there is a highway to hell but only a stairway to heaven, then clearly we have some work ahead of us … LOL 3 Reply Jim1 year agoJimI think music, video and experiences all compliment my gratefulness. The song “It’s in everyone of us” is just one of many that help remind me of our connections and what I have to be grateful for. Listening to them now takes me right back to that place and time and thinking back on how grateful I am for where I’m at today and the path that led me here. 2 Reply Elaine1 year agoElainePeter Mayer’s Everything is Holy Now. I was a volunteer entertainer with the New Orleans Recreation Department We traveled throughout the city giving weekly performances in hospitals, assisted living and nursing home facilities. I usually sang songs from Broadway musicals. We were performing at a mental health facility and I sang “As Long as He Needs Me” from “Oliver.” A young patient approached me after the performance and I could tell she had been crying. She said, “I’ve been here for a couple of months and have not been able to express my feelings. When you sang tonight, I was finally able to cry.” That was 50 years ago and I’m tearing up just thinking about it. Today’s quote is so true. I can not watch the movie to this day. I am still trying to heal my heart from all that trauma. Thank you for reminding me to have him in my heart today. 0 Reply Javier Visionquest1 year agoJavier VisionquestGratefulness phoning it in again, eh? I’ll reciprocate: Dido’s “Thank You”.
