Nancy Walton-House1 year agoNancy Walton-HouseI experience reverence and awe in nature, in sacred places like some cathedrals, churches and chapels, in great music and art, in contemplation, prayer and meditation. In these thin places, I sense the tangible presence of God and rejoice in our personal relationship. 0 Reply Emily1 year agoEmilyReverence arises in my life through having a deep respect for those in authority such as police officers, nurses, doctors, fire fighters and teachers. So quite a lot really. Any time I catch a moment in nature eg just the beauty of the bare branches of a tree catching major light. Or beautiful music. Or the deep mystery of consciousness. 4 Reply Dusty Su1 year agoDusty SuTeachers, medical staff, social workers, peacekeepers, birds in the morning, the ocean’s tempests, quiet moments of the heart, connecting to another, sunrises and sets. 3 Reply Kristi1 year agoKristiI have so much deep respect for the educators I work with each day. So many go above and beyond to help their students the best they can. Inspiring! 3 Reply Momof31 year agoMomof3I have a deep respect for my aunt as she is more like a mom to me. She has always shown me love, compassion, respect, and understanding despite the difficulties I have faced in life. I am not sure where my life would be if she had not played such a large and important role in it. 4 Reply Anna1 year agoAnnaWhen and where my mouth becomes an “O”. In nature, in moments of awe, as Cathie just has mentioned, when people allow me to care for them, and towards my teacher, my friends and loved ones. It goes along with the wonder that we all share here. For me, it is still work in progress to stay open to the depth of connecting with all encounter. Thanks again for this question, dear Gratefulness-team. 3 Reply Cathie1 year agoCathieIn places of awe – some I remember: the redwood forests, a deserted beach standing in front of the waves, a dark night looking at the sky, on some hiking paths, in some buildings or places that are spiritual centers, in cemeteries, and when participating in some rituals/ceremonies with others. 5 Reply GratefulOne1 year agoGratefulOne-At church service -During meditation -In nature 4 Reply Hot Sauce1 year agoHot SauceRight now, I am learning to see the Divine in all sentient beings. As such, reverence arises for animals, people, insects, and other sentient life. All of these, like the Masters of old, are the Logos made flesh. 5 Reply Linda1 year agoLindaWhen I think of all the healthcare workers who have been there for us throughout the pandemic, I feel a deep reverence for all they have done and been. 5 Reply devy1 year agodevyReverence..deep respect for someone or something… whenever I go for a hike into nature I feel reverence towards Mother Earth, for what she provides, nurtures supports by means of her life, her weather, the stars, moon and sun above. The past 2yrs I have dedicated to research about limiting beliefs and destructive behaviors & habits, doing so has allowed me to gain a sense of respect for parents regardless of their upbringing. I would blame everything on the parents and I have studied that parenting skills is usually passed on from generation to generation. I have also been researching mental health documentaries which has given me the up most respect to individuals who are coping my mental health conditions themselves or in their family. I am also researching HISTORY not the history we were taught in school the history our OUR TRUE ANCESTORS. Day by day I am increasing my respect for Mother Nature, God & My ancestors/history; it is also increasing my desire to live the life they lived and leave this city stuff and tech stuff in the states and live off of our mother land, while nurturing and caring for her. The choice is always mine and I do better when I listen to what rises out of my soul not my mind that seems to be on automatic pilot. Peace is the way. 4 Reply Chester1 year agoChesterThe when I suppose is easier to describe than the where. When admiring the natural order, when appreciating the symphony of relationships in everyday society, when considering our historical progress marked by individual sacrifice and perseverance. Where? I suppose at the intersection of my mind’s eye and these points of connection with something greater towards which I strive to connect. 5 Reply Mike S1 year agoMike SI experience awe, a relative if reverence, when I come upon a particularly old, multi-branched live oak trees that seem to speak wisdom, strenghth and patience. 6 Reply Michele1 year agoMicheleReverence arises in my life at work.
