Nina10 months agoNinaI loved the sunsets in Hawaii and the feeling was contentment, complete relaxation, and completeness. As for sunrises, the most memorable is when I was fishing in Kenai, AK. Just breathtaking, surreal – best days – made me grateful for everything around me. The experience is probably one of my top 10. Exhilarating. 0 Reply Abby10 months agoAbbyI witness a beautiful sunset in my hometown. I was visiting with friends and family, and we decided to take a walk on the beach. Even though it wasn’t some place spectacular I was surrounded by the people I love. 0 Reply Skeeter10 months agoSkeeterSo many places in the world. But I am nestled in a most amazing and beautiful mountain community. Most mornings and evening but especially when the red skies roll in. And when I am really blessed, after a rain a beautiful rainbow hovers over my home. It makes me feel a childlike awe… 1 Reply Tahsin Tabassum11 months agoTahsin Tabassumit made me calm I guess 1 Reply victoriavhansen11 months agovictoriavhansenThe most incredible sunrise I've ever seen was while hiking my first 14,000 foot mountain in Colorado. Once I passed the tree line all together, I was able to see the sunrise peak over the enormous mountain range. This made me feel grateful that my body was able to accomplish something so enduring, both mentally and physically. The beauty of the mountain top atmosphere allowed me to truly understand how important it is to immerse myself in nature and never to take it for granted. Sunsets like life’s fulfilling, especially if that day of mine was full. Thanx for all you All do, have a good eve’ 🙂 reality 2 Reply Malag11 months agoMalagA week or so ago. I opened up to it for a moment and then pulled away to whatever I was doing. In that moment before I did so it felt spacious. Part of me says I should have spent more time on it but then the words of today are spot on: it’s not about the measure of time. 2 Reply Linda11 months agoLindaA great solace during this time of isolation is Sunset, my favorite time of day. I have enjoyed this gift of God countless times. over the years. Best of all the many times when my small grandchildren were nearby and I’d call them to come quickly. I point to the sky and tell them “Look, God has His paintbox out, look what he is doing to the sky.” Seeing their awe was so rewarding and gives me hope they will grow up with the same appreciation I have had during my life. 2 Reply Melissa11 months agoMelissaA couple of days ago during this pandemic, my husband and I watched a gorgeous sunset from our garden in Santa Barbara. It was an unexpected gift as we were so overwhelmed by the news about the virus and for about 45 mins we forgot about that world and just lived in the beauty of the sunset which eased our hearts and mind to calm. 2 Reply TeriB11 months agoTeriBMorning sun rises and evening sunsets are my most favorite part of the day. Whenever we travel I make it a point to find beautiful places to view both. Watching brings me peace and a sense of wonder. Love my early morning runs as the sun rises I feel so much energy. I have also been know on beautiful evening to join my son on our roof to enjoy beautiful sunsets. 2 Reply Hot Sauce11 months agoHot SauceIn the summer of 2010, I was going through a very difficult time, and some of what happened still affects me to this day; however, one thing that kept me going was the beautiful sunsets in the evening. For some reason, that kind of beauty gave me a sense of hope and joy in the midst of the storm. I’m going through another storm right now, so maybe I should pay more attention to sunsets and find some joy that way. 2 Reply Elaine11 months agoElaineSunrises from our island cabin facing east, sunsets a few blocks from our city condo facing west. In such constant universal rhythms what is there to feel but awe, reverence. 2 Reply pkr11 months agopkrI have seen many many beautiful sunsets here on the West Coast, all beautiful, delightful and awe inspiring. Some of thee most colorful ones I have witnessed were during the destructive wild fires, north of me. The sky appeared to be on fire too. Stay Strong All. Be Calm & Centered All. ??? 5 Reply Samuel11 months agoSamuelAt an overlook near Newfound Gap on Route 441 in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. My late wife and I were returning home to Bryson City, NC after a visit to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, TN late one evening. The sun was just disappearing behind the Smokys on a beautiful warm quiet Sunday in one of our favorite places in the whole world! 8 Reply Debra11 months agoDebraSamuel: I have driven through the Smoky Mountains but I have never been to Pigeon Forge. Your descriptive ‘share’ of your sunset experience is beautiful and solidifies my resolve to return and experience the Smoky Mountains more intimately. 3 Reply Samuel11 months agoSamuelDear Debra, next to our home in Dragonfly Hollar outside of Bryson City, NC, the Smokys were Penny Luv’s favorite place in the whole world. She especially loved Cades Cove with its primitive Methodist Church where we left my late Aunt Sally Hamilton’s favorite bible. Someday, when the time is right, Penny Luv will rest there for eternity. Should you ever decide to visit, look me up at [email protected] Would love to make your acquaintance… sb 2 Reply Debra11 months agoDebraThank you. The rising sun spun shimmering beams of light across the pinwheel shaped, pastel-drenched clouds dancing over the waters of the Pacific. I felt the excitement and joy of a child; it felt so new. It was new. It was a new day. I was giddy and grateful for this beginning. 8 Reply GCharlotte11 months agoGCharlotteI witnessed a beautiful sunset on the Navesink at Sandy Hook National Park in New Jersey. I felt a deep impression for the past present and the future to come. I also felt very peaceful. It was an awesome scene of nature with its spendid red yellow and pink tones. 5 Reply Veronica11 months agoVeronicaAt my old house on the mountain, the sunrise was so beautiful from the front porch. I loved when it was bright with vivid colors of orange and blue 4 Reply Katrina11 months agoKatrinaI grew up in the Texas Panhandle where there is nothing between you and the horizon – no trees, no buildings, only a windmill or the crop that is about to be harvested. Sunsets there are the best and bring a peace that all is well. 2 Reply Mark Piper11 months agoMark PiperBay-St-Louis Bridge in October of 2018, that was a beautiful morning walk and sunrise. Peacefully is not the most optimal word or description, but it’s a nice place-holder as a better descriptor fails me at the moment. 2 Reply 1 2 Next » My Private Gratitude Journal Write an entry in your private gratefulness journal Get Started This site is brought to you by A Network for Grateful Living, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
