Now what makes it even better is the truth that my sons are now blessed with great friends. I’m believing it has a lot to do with the good deeds myself or my parents have done . 1 Reply Amanda10 months agoAmandaI shared my struggles and how I still keep pressing on. My story inspired one person to get off the couch the other day, then they posted and it inspired more people to get up and exercise. I often wonder who wants to hear about my struggles or workouts, but doing so has become a good deed that gets others moving and feeling better. 2 Reply Tahsin Tabassum10 months agoTahsin TabassumI don’t know haven’t done any good deed recently kind of taking mental health break and took time off from social-media as well 2 Reply TeriB10 months agoTeriBThe smiles and happiness that I see on the faces of those I have shopped for, baked for or made a meal for. 2 Reply slawrence10 months agoslawrenceYears ago, I felt led to follow a poor child and give $100 to her family. I thought they would be grateful but when I was asked to wait I could see a hospital bed in the living room, the mother dying from cancer. On the walls were photos of this giant family and clippings about the 25 children these folks had adopted. My “great” contribution was a tiny drop in a thirsty bucket. The ripple effect in that moment was that I felt so humbled, and so grateful for these parents. 1 Reply Antoinette10 months agoAntoinetteI get joy and happiness when I’m able to help others with anything I can! I feel deeply connected and full of joy! Generosity is a wonderful source of happiness. 0 Reply Hunter10 months agoHunterMy mother often baked bread, as her mother did. I have baked our bread for 50 years. Now our son bakes bread for his family, and our 3 and 5 year old grandchildren know how yeast works, and how to shape loaves. 5 Reply Rachel10 months agoRachelI have named growth for my child when she struggles to see it for herself. When her lens of negativity blinds herself to her own goodness. When growth and growing wisdom stand so invisible In our culture of external measures. I have then watched her bring this gift to her friends. Naming their light for them when they are blinded by self-judgement, comparison and fear. “To love a person is to learn the song in their heart, and sing it to them when they have forgotten.” - Aren Garbord ...I have named growth for my child when she struggles to see it for herself. That’s the only way I know to answer this question. 1 Reply Lioness10 months agoLionessTo be honest any good deed that I do, I do not do it to observe the outcome. If the outcome is positive then the ripples have the possibility of being further reaching than can even be observed in any case. 2 Reply Chester10 months agoChesterBelieve only the omniscient can fully know and see the ripples, whereas it is our role to have faith and awareness that they exist. 1 Reply Dawn Elaine10 months agoDawn Elaine“When did we see you hungry, and feed you? And when did we see you thirsty, and give you drink?” “I tell you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these, you did it to me.” For me, when I am aware of “doing” a good deed, there’s more ego in it than blessing. But if I begin my day by asking for the grace to have eyes to see, ears to hear, and a heart willing to open to others, I do. Once in awhile, I do see the effects but not always. Not even often. The element of not knowing but that doing a good deed alone brings joy and a smile is enough. 3 Reply Pilgrim10 months agoPilgrimWell, I would think of this more as a happy surprise than a good deed. My granddaughter just finished her college term/year, and is staying near school as she is working in a grocery store. I have sent her a couple of gift cards lately so that she knows I’m thinking about her and proud of her. Kind of fun to send a non-occasion surprise. I pray she stays healthy. 5 Reply devy10 months agodevyAll our interactions with others have an affect or create ripples. The ripples can be strong and violent and upheave others lives or be gentle, relaxed and spread far out from us. I try to be conscious of what I say or do as I know that even though I am not responsible for the actions of others, I can be a catalyst..both positive or negative. Hopefully my good deeds will carry on.. 4 Reply Carla10 months agoCarlaThis is an awkward question & lends itself toward self centered thinking. As I’m led to engage in a ‘good deed’ such as a random act of kindness, I no longer look over my shoulder & ask did the next person pass it on(?) I take action & leave the outcomes to God. 2 Reply Kevin10 months agoKevinGenerally speaking, I hope that whatever deed I might undertake would be a good one. As long as the effects are positive that is all I care about. 5 Reply My Private Gratitude Journal Write an entry in your private gratefulness journal Get Started This site is brought to you by A Network for Grateful Living, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
