There are moments where I find myself worried about what tomorrow may bring or focusing too much energy on things that I could have done differently in the past and I am reminded that tomorrow is not promised. There are moments where I find myself worried about what tomorrow may bring or focusing too much energy on things that I could have done differently in the past and I am reminded that tomorrow is not promised. I have been through a moment in my life where I walked into a doctors office thinking my life was one way and walked out to a completely uncertain future. All I could hold onto for months of uncertainty was the present and life as it was in that moment. Knowing that I control nothing is the just as frightening as it is grounding. Looking for the good in the current moment helps me lean into the way life is. 1 Reply Papilio4 months agoPapilioMy past experiences in trying to improve things, and ending up making them worse. I realized that there were so many things that I have no control of and the only thing I could do is just to accept them as they are. 1 Reply Malag4 months agoMalagThere’s always growth no matter the situation. 3 Reply Dusty Su4 months agoDusty SuThe knowledge of my history, which tells me that even the worst stuff is doable in the big picture. 4 Reply Sharon Bergmann4 months agoSharon BergmannI believe Gratitude and Forgiveness are the Dynamic Duo of Healing. I believe…no matter what….Loves Wins! always and all ways. 4 Reply Mica4 months agoMicaDo perspectives help me lean into life as it is? If so, what are those perspectives? I’m reminded of a Bible study question about why God made the leopard’s spots, and it seemed to me that the first question would be, ‘Did God make the leopard’s spots?’ 2 Reply DeVonna4 months agoDeVonnaIn order to maintain a right balance within myself, I have to make it a priority to ground myself in Faith, each and every morning. The Christian life is what does that for me. It helps me to recognize that Life is bigger than my own existence and it’s small challenges. 4 Reply Javier Visionquest4 months agoJavier VisionquestColor me grateful; I’m a really fortunate guy! My wife and I are both employed; we have savings, a roof over our heads, shoddy as it may be; a half acre, and a couple of brand-spanking-new Subarus in the drive. We have access to plenty of nutritious organic food. We have friends and maintain social networks throughout the pandemic. Diabetes and the beltway’s ubiquitous “golden handcuffs” are, really, our limiting factors. It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood! 6 Reply Mica4 months agoMicaWhat a fun read, Javier! My you continue to feel really fortunate – 3 Reply pkr4 months agopkrI am grateful for each new & beautiful day I wake up to. I keep gratefulness at the forefront as I go about my day. I meditate in the morning to keep me calm, centered & remind myself to be kind. I try to be love & light as much as possible as I live my days. You never know what someone else is going thru. This is a very hard & trying time for all of us, not just me. We are all doing our best. I try to hold that thought as my day unfolds. Happy Saturday All. Have a blessed day. ...I am grateful for each new & beautiful day I wake up to. I keep gratefulness at the forefront as I go about my day. This morning I noticed the rising sun illuminating an oak tree. I had observed the sun in the giant eucalyptus, but never before in the oak. Wow, I thought, tHe spirit reaches us all, even in dark places. 6 Reply Holly in Ohio4 months agoHolly in OhioWe are approaching the winter solstice. A beautiful sunny winter morning is indeed a blessing. 4 Reply Michele4 months agoMicheleA special winter solstice too, conjunction with Saturn and Jupiter too! 2 Reply Chia4 months agoChiaAt times I “take stock” of my own mortality and the experience of waking up, alive and relatively well. The sound of my little dog just waiting for me to arise and pay attention to the wagging tail and desire for food and care. That I am safe and able to feed myself and the day ahead is ripe with tasks and choices to make. Another day of life. I am a lung transplant survivor in the midst of a pandemic. I am still here and doing well. I am grateful for today. 5 Reply Zenith4 months agoZenithI have no idea. I wakeup in thankfulness each day and practice gratefulness in my life. I don’t know what else I can do besides constantly challenging my thought patterns. 5 Reply Lprb104 months agoLprb10Today as I practice awarness that God is all around me, directing my every step as I surrender to his will for my life, all is well. Practicing acceptance helps to keep my peace through the day. 6 Reply MelaD4 months agoMelaDWhen I remember to not take everything personally, I am able to step back and realize that what someone says or does is about them. In this space I find my heart and mind opening, and compassion for another human being appears. 7 Reply Mike S4 months agoMike SFaith that everything that comes into my life can contribute to new learning, no matter how challenging. 8 Reply Michele4 months agoMicheleThere’s good and bad, however, no matter how bad something good will always come out. Seeing kindness in others, laughing, random acts of kindness help lean into life when it get hard. 4 Reply Patricia4 months agoPatriciaRemembering that my attitude toward things makes a huge difference in my day. Being grateful and curious no matter the way things are, wondering what I can learn or notice, and remembering too that “this too shall pass…” 9 Reply devy4 months agodevyFocusing on the fact that we as humans are circling the sun together on this blue ball. I remind myself “you always come through it, girl” & my favorite, “you’re a badass beast” & these help to carry me through. 4 Reply 1 2 Next » My Private Gratitude Journal Write an entry in your private gratefulness journal Get Started This site is brought to you by A Network for Grateful Living, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
