An empty vessel can not pour out into another. I have to be consistent and intentional in my daily devotions and meditation/prayer, so that I am capable of recognizing need and reaching out. I vow to spend time strengthening my connection to God, who enables me to serve others. 9 Reply Zoe2 months agoZoeStay positive, be prayerful and light virtual candles. Let the Light shine! I am going through a family crisis and need to stay positive and uplifted, as to not be pulled down by negative and chaotic family drama. I can’t help family members or others to be positive and inspired if I am not positive myself. Lighting virtual candles and reading articles on gratefulness on this website I find are very encouraging and uplifting. 12 Reply Michele2 months agoMicheleI enjoy lighting candles on this website as well. Sending you strength and patience as you deal with your family crisis. 1 Reply Zoe2 months agoZoeThank you for your kind words. And I will light a candle for you, Michele. Hope, peace, joy and love. 0 Reply DeVonna2 months agoDeVonnaDear Zoe, I’m sorry your family is struggling right now, but I am grateful you recognize the role you can play by working on your own peace moving forward. I said a prayer for you, just now. 4 Reply Zoe2 months agoZoeThank you so much for your prayer. Blessings to you, DeVonna. 1 Reply Yanina Vashchenko2 months agoYanina VashchenkoMore than 15 years ago, I met Brother David in person. He was so humble that I perceived a spiritual glow emanating from him. Clearly, he has put forth such amazing energy that it continues through time and space and into infinity. One thing I can do today is to try to humble myself as much as possible and try to bend down towards Brother David and his Light. 6 Reply Lauryn2 months agoLaurynRefrain from negativity of any kind. There are so many great answers below- I think I’ll compile a list for myself just as a daily reminder. 🙂 7 Reply Jim2 months agoJimYes, stay home, wear a mask and be kind!, 6 Reply Linda2 months agoLindaStay home. Wear a mask. Be kind. 7 Reply DrDarkstorm2 months agoDrDarkstormInstead of being angry or upset at a person, reflect on what I a grateful from that person doing for me in my life. That will change my interactions with that person and make their life have more light in it. 7 Reply Michele2 months agoMicheleI love your name – sounds like a movie or book, lol. 0 Reply GCharlotte2 months agoGCharlotteSmile. 6 Reply Papilio2 months agoPapilioAfter being out of commission for a few days due to migraines, I feel I’m ready to care for others. I’ll reach out a friend today, whose younger brother died by suicide in 10 months ago. 5 Reply Michele2 months agoMicheleMy son’s best friend committed suicide July 13th 2020. I’m sure your friend will appreciate your kindness and reaching out to them. With the holidays around the corner this is going to be very difficult and add Covid to it that much more to bear. 1 Reply DeVonna2 months agoDeVonnaDear Papilio, I am so glad you’re feeling better! Blessings to you as you reach out to your friend. 3 Reply Zenith2 months agoZenithOffer a kind word, and watch my attitude. I have grown confident in the competence gained from life experience. I forget that not everyone has had the same blessing and that I need to build people up. 5 Reply Patricia2 months agoPatriciaHowie said it already: “Wear a mask.” And then, beyond that, stay home as much as possible and model caution through my own behavior. And then, beyond that, a phone call to Doreen who is in a nursing facility…. And then, beyond that …. I’ve got a list. 6 Reply DeVonna2 months agoDeVonnaDear Patricia, It sounds like you have a plan…I like that! 3 Reply Rhea2 months agoRheaToday, I’m going to focus on thinking before I speak. I’ve seen how one negative person can lead to another and another- the cycle continues. If I can detach from negative emotions, I can figure out where it’s coming from and address it from there. We don’t always have a say in what happens to us, but we can control how we react and respond to life. 10 Reply Trish2 months agoTrishI’m going to focus on listening with my whole heart as I navigate through my day. Before I leave the encounter I’ll share a brief positive reflection of what I heard. 5 Reply Lioness2 months agoLionessI need to be kind to myself and try to refocus. Being away from home is proving difficult, living in an environment that I am unable to change is getting to me and I am feeling incredibly emotional. I need to refocus me and my wellbeing in order that I can make a positive difference all round and be the support that my nieces need me to be. 10 Reply 1 2 Next » My Private Gratitude Journal Write an entry in your private gratefulness journal Get Started This site is brought to you by A Network for Grateful Living, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
