My new year I am trying to focus on exercise and eating right. I went to my monthly yoga class tonight. Because it is so cold I had 2nd thoughts and of course I feel like I am not very good at it but I am glad I went and I can see improvements each time I go. I always feel great after so I have to focus on that!

It isn’t really a new beginning, but today I am grateful for all the utility workers that are working around the clock to restore power in our city. We first had a snow storm, and then an ice storm, so the roads are nearly impassable and many people have lost power and some died in the severe cold. I am deeply grateful to all those who are helping dig us out of this mess.

I am grateful for starting to exercise to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Previously, living in Minnesota, I stopped exercising, especially in the winter. I only sat in front of a computer, immersed myself in school exercises, and went to sleep. It affected my health a lot. So this new year, my resolution is to engage in more physical exercise. This morning, before visiting this site, I had fun with a hula hoop. Keep going!

Last night I participated in the informational meeting to become a facilitator for Grateful Community gatherings. I think it is something I would like to do. I am grateful the seed is planted in my mind. I am also grateful the grateful team has initiated this possibility. Our communities are in need of this infiltration of these values.

Congrats Yram! I didn’t know there was zoom meetings? How often?

There was an introductory session last night. In February they will have a 75 minute “teaching session ” for 4 weeks. I think if you register you can get the info and last night’s recording.
I am glad you will pursue this out reach.

I have alot on my plate at the moment but if they end up having somewhat regular zoom meetings for our group I would participate in the future 🙂

YRAM, I, too, am interested in the Grateful community gatherings but could not attend last night’s meeting as I could not download ZOOM. I’ve ordered a camera and some new speakers for my computer so I can use ZOOM. I hope to be able to take the training in February.

Today I embark on a few days of R&R in the country.
A recent unexpected trip to the ER has left me aware of the need to step back from some stressors. Am confident that my time away will offer me insights into how to do just that. I am grateful for the timing
of all that led to this “new beginning” opportunity.

I went vegan from Monday of this week based on my doctor’s recommendation. I hope I can make it stick and as tricky as it will be I am grateful for this new beginning to reset my body, my gut, my health. The journey back to good health has begun.

My husband and I have been vegetarians for a long time, although not totally vegan. We use the opportunity to be very creative with meals, and we cook some delicious ones. We feel in no way deprived ever. Good luck on your journey, Journey. And, unless there is a medical reason, I suggest not being fanatic about it.

Today is a new day and new experiences await! My husband and I and dog, Clancy and cats Finn and Nora are on our way this morning to the Apalachico;a National Forest to camp for a few days. It is very quiet and peaceful there- so I will have a few days to reflect and think about life. It also promises to be cold…brr! I am not looking forward to that. At this campground there is not any electricity…so we will depend on our propane furnace to keep all of us warm. I plan to be grateful for all that I am given. I won’t be here for 5 or more days as we do not have any internet or phone service either! Very quiet. Blessings to all my friends here.
