What comes to mind is “Hachi: A dogs tale. It was filmed when I worked in Woonsocket RI down the street. Also in Bristol RI. If you watch it and love dogs bring a box of tissues!!

“Searching for Sugarman”. A 2013 documentary about the extraordinary Detroit-based musician, Rodriguez, who died last week at age 81. He was a hero in South Africa, but unknown here. I find the story riveting and moving.

If you haven’t seen this film yet, please watch it!

I do like movies- but rarely see one. Unfortunately nothing comes to mind. Perhaps I should go see what Netflix has to offer 🙂
    Wishing everyone a good day.

The Shawshank Redemption. The hero brings joy and light into a very dark space.

I just saw (last night) the movie “Hacksaw Ridge”. Amazing true story about Desmond Doss, a soldier, army medic, conscientious objector during WWII. His beliefs, his convictions, his strength, courage, his faith absolutely awe inspiring. I was so moved by his conviction to stay true to himself & his beliefs. A man of God. A hero.
He was the 1st conscientious objector to be awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor.
Renewed my faith in mankind. There are decent honorable people out there.
I am grateful for Desmond Doss. 🙏🏻❤️

The first movie that comes to mind is not surprisingly the most recent. I just saw a documentary about Roger Ebert’s life, in particular his life of film commentary and critique. Great film that highlights his spirit and passion for the written word and movies. After watching I found myself grateful to have appreciated his reviews in years past, have access to the wide breadth of movies that are available through our digital platforms, and be able to tap into communicating and connecting with others on the plane of ideas, just as he had so cherished throughout his life.

Hmmm, I loved the movie “The great
beauty”. The way the main character was
a contemplative observer and open to the
    possibility of magical spontaneous situations.

      After reading your responses, I
      remembered another film (The Wild
Parrots Of Telegraph Hill) that didn’t
necessarily gave me a grateful perspective,
it did change my perspective about all
living things having there own dynamic
      realities.

Yes, if we’re thinking about the same
film. Fantastic Fungi was so amazing.
      Thanks for the reminder 🙏

I love movies, and while many have made me think about life or cry or laugh really hard, I can’t think of any that gave me a more grateful perspective.

I cannot think of one movie that has given me a more grateful perspective. I do not watch too many movies. If I accompany my wife to the theater in Alamosa, I always put in my foam ear plugs to soften the incredible volume, generally I doze off at one point or another. This always upsets Cheryl. She just does not understand I am unable to suspend belief long enough to stay interested in whatever is on the screen. Since the question involves movies, I really do not care for musicals except one………Paint Your Wagon….Lee Marvin and Clint Eastwood.

The first thing that came to mind was not a movie but a TV show, “Call the Midwife.”

Yes, yes. Love this show. Only have seen a few episodes, but each 1 has moved me, usually to tears. The kindnesses, generosity, compassion, love, all so beautiful. Thank you Laura for your response.
      Have a great day.😊
