I have a close friend, he is studying overseas. We always share things together. By telling him how much I appreciate his presence, I can bring joy to him. I have sent an interesting video to some of my friends whom I thought would benefit from it. And it brought joy to them. Hopefully there will be a “lessons learned” review when things have settled down but the immediate objective is to show that there still some grown ups around! I have more empathy for my 90 year old aunts who still live alone. What might I do to bring them joy? I could make them a homemade card expressing my love and mail it to them. When you are stuck inside, getting the mail each day is an adventure. I also could phone them. For my 88 year old Dad, who is sheltering with our household, I could sing a song with him, harmonizing the alto sections,...This mandated stay at home order has opened my eyes to what life is like for many of our elderly shut-ins.
