Commit is one of those English words that leaves me cold… too many people and corporations espouse hollow commitment to certain things but fall short, but it is still OK. No commitments from me today. Resolve or dedication or passion or action or …. definitely.
I did a pencil sketch of a rabbit many years back. Today I hope to turn a copy of it into a thank you card some my friend Carol who recently gave me a charming quilted wall hanging of a rabbit.
I appreciate the Parker J Palmer invitation to self-care today, and the reminder that it is good stewardship of the only gift we have. Also the reminder that it is not selfish.
Will start with the Tara Brach Compassion/ Tonglen practice and take the day one breath, one step at a time.
Spending time with a friend.
Tending my garden.
Time with my sweetheart–maybe a walk down to the water.
Lemon poundcake with blueberries and good strong coffee.
I prefer lists of possibilities over to-do lists, so everything else in my day is a possibility.
R&R today. I’ve done some deep cleaning over the last couple of days. My hands are wrecked and my body weary. So I’m going for easy as much as possible.
I plan to take it easy. Have breakfast with my son and watch a movie this afternoon–the remake of “The Razor’s Edge.” Original starred Tyrone Power back in the 1930s or 40s. I think this one was probably made in the 1980s and stars a young Bill Murray in a dramatic role. Last week was very busy and very emotional. I guess I’m taking the advice featured in today’s quote! Blessing to all.
I’m going to work on my YTT studies and do an asana practice. And I’m also planning to tidy up the house, catching up on some chores, and if it doesn’t rain, I’ll go out and work in the okra field.

Walk at Home and Yoga.
Gratitude Journaling.
Organize Sophie’s school materials.
Giving the kitchen a good cleaning. 🙂
I commit to staying in the “Light” today & in gratefulness.
I am grateful for this sanctuary.
