How very beautiful Sparrow. Such a joy to read, especially with your lovely picture.
I have been part of the Gratefulness Community since the summer of 2017
and I remember reading your answers to Questions of the Day going way back.
I am more often on the Gratitude Lounge section myself.
I just want to let you know
I have been touched by your responses many times over the years.
      Blessings and much love.

        Dear Mary…
Thank you for your kind words…
Were you on the old gratefulness forum
before they changed the format for this site?
I joined the old forum in 2007
        with love…

Hmmm, just one? How about two?
I seem to exude positivity. So I guess
being positive is one quality. The other
side of that coin is doubt. And I am
often doubtful. I think these two
    opposite qualities have defined me.
This is a large question for me, as
I don’t have a strong identity at the
    moment. How people would described
or perceive me, is not necessarily how
I feel about myself. Which makes me
wonder, if I am being honest or
real with the people around me.

These days, I would say gratitude. It has tempered my need to control!

Unfortunately, I am “impetuous.” It is why, thanks to the poetry of Malcom Guite “A Sonnet for Petertide” I have an affinity to St. Peter. For that which I am is a negative (impetuous being moving more rapidly in action than one’s thought) yet it’s my hallmark and as much as a stumbling block it is not an end-all-be-all determent to my growth in life. Again, unfortunately that I think a quality most appropriate for me is negative or has a negative connotation but alas it is. Knowing this, and not fully moving beyond it, I do try to make attempts, some more successful than others, at intentionally slowing down and asking “am I moving too quick, am I being gentle with time — my own and others?”

Dear Mark, this is only my opinion. Such an impetuous attitude, brought saint Peter
      to tears after a betrayal.
May we all shed warm tears, after a lack of honesty, right like an impetuous but passionate Saint Peter.

I didn’t think I could come up with just one word, then decided I could go with “optimism.” Always thinking things will turn out for the best, or at least in a form I can manage. Things will turn out in some form or other, after all, and I’ll go on and will be able to put that outcome into perspective and continue to go through life.

I’m stuck on — well , who am I , not quite sure- it used to be curious, I have a list of what I wish it were, maybe these are the qualities that I am building capacity in .

Perseverance is the quality that came to mind first when I read the question.
The line from Robert Frost really speaks to me: “The best way out is always through.”

Ha! It isn’t remembering where things are. I have a Certificate of Recognition from a group at Kellogg’s that says I have:
Perseverance, Flexibility and Grace Under Pressure. I am always losing track of it. Just ran into it when I was looking for a notebook to take notes for the Sacred Journey class offered on this website, that is why I can share it this morning.

God has blessed me with a husband that can usually tell me where he last saw something of mine. 💕😊
