My 18 month old’s eyes fill with awe at EVERYthing. This sense of awe is a great reminder to find these things in everyday, simple things.

    Daily Gratitude:
    1. Miles’ smile
    2. Everett’s voice
    3. Cooper’s licks

Definitely my trip to the Highlands of Scotland. A lot of breathtaking scenery from its lochs to the mountains!

Two very special things have happened in the last 24 hours that were seriously awesome : (1) a huge gathering on Thanksgiving of the large and wonderful family that I married into; and (2) a Thanksgiving card with a message from each member of the beloved choir I sang with for over 30 years. (Health issues currently preclude my participating, and I miss them and the singing so much,) I realize how much I am loved, and that filled me with awe. It moved my mood from bordering on self-pitying and despondent to filled with joy and wrapped in love. Thank you, Holy Spirit for all the blessings of my life and the people in it. Including you all!

A choir is truly a blessing, Dolores! I join you, as I have been singing in a parish choir since I was young.
We are lucky to have this experience!

There was a heavy rain shower, and I was watching the water rush away on the ground. I don’t know why, but watching the water go to where it wanted to go, it did not let any obstacle impede it. It just went around it on its way to where it wanted to be. It got me thinking about relationships. I wondered how I have tended to focus on obstacles in relationships rather than just go around them and focus on what is truly important – the relationship itself.

Don, your reflection is a balm, for me.

Water always finds its level. Good relationships I have had and the long one I still have with Cheryl seem to follow suit for me Don. I appreciate your observation.

The full moon with Venus nearby & Jupiter. The stars galore. Literally took my breath away & stunned me to my core.

I went for a hike yesterday and was able
to look down from a high vantage point
at the mouth of the Russian River, where
it spills into the Pacific. The wildlife gathered
and the power of the river and the ocean
    coming together was mesmerizing.
Where the fresh water meets the salt water
and imagining the Salmon and the Steelhead
    making that transition.
There’s a lot of energy concentrated in that
    spot.

A second observation of water. Agua es Vida. Thank you for the imagery, Charlie T.

I am in awe every time I look at the sky, day or night. But yesterday at Thanksgiving, it was the most adorable thing to see my 9mo old nephew try banana pudding for the first time. The look on his little face trying to figure out what he was eating and then the shift in his eyes when he realized he liked it, opening his mouth wanting more. Oh, how I love babies!!

The lovely sunset on Wednesday night. My friend sent a picture of his daughter walking. The little sparrows that frequently visit my water stand. The several Thanksgiving greetings from friends who I don’t usually hear from.

I know I recently wrote about this – I had a sense of awe at the Halloween decor at a High Tea outting with my daughter.
Last weekend at Epcot I had plenty of awe moments with their decorations too.
I’ve seen bats in my backyard and I remember just smiling and thinking ‘I am so happy to be seeing my little friends in November and not just the summer months’. 🦇🦇🦇

I would have to say some of the recent pictures people have posted of the awesome sunrises and sunsets. Despite all the crisis in the world and country right now. Those glorious sunrises and sunsets are reminders to give your peace to the Lord at night and KNOW HE will wake you up to a glorious morning!

The birth of a much wanted baby in my family. She only weighed 5 1/2 lbs at birth but she is 9 months old now and she is thriving. Her eyes don’t miss a thing and her ever-present grin melts my heart.

The sight of a large maple tree, each leaf a bright yellow, backlit by the setting sun. It was as though each leaf had its own internal light. And maybe they do. It was absolutely stunning.

Laura, We have lots of maple trees in my neighborhood and they truly choose to go out in a blaze of glory each fall – powerful images of the gracefulness of letting-go.

A surprise Thanksgiving text from an outstate 38 yr old nephew. It mattered not that the content was all online cartoon favorites of mine. He took the time to find them, assemble in order, and send to me, closing with “Love You” from Snoopy. His tenderness brought warmth to my heart and awe to my soul.

It might seem a bit silly to mention “turkey.” However, for me, turkey has been a source of wonder. Despite living in the U.S. for almost four years, yesterday marked the first time I tasted turkey during Thanksgiving. Previously, my Thanksgivings were filled with my traditional cuisines. I also owe an extra credit to my aunt for offering some pumpkin pie to the celebration. Food is just food, but it opened a whole new world for me. Through the dishes I enjoyed, I gained a deeper understanding of what a traditional Thanksgiving means to an immigrant like myself.
