So the little actions I can choose to take can bring my mindset more into equitable and peaceful thinking. And there’s then a positive cycle of energy At a macro level the question is immense. The enormity of social and climate justice issues makes me want to hide from them because either they are just too big for me to make a difference or just too uncomfortable for me to want to. Anything to relieve yourself from these pains and bothers? It’s natural to feel this way. Immediate reaction. It’s natural to feel this way. Immediate reaction. But what I’ve learned is, there is much value and long-term good in stepping back to quiet the mind and think further about what you’re feeling, and what you want to do about it– especially what you want to say about it (to others you care about). I learned that it’s best to take the time to step back and process your anxieties, frustrations, worries and fears before you react right away. This gives me a chance to understand why I am bothered or uncomfortable without offending my dear loved ones simply because my Ego wants immediate comfort. –because once you taint or cause damage, it is 100000x more difficult to repair it or take it back. I have to say, BE HONEST and GENUINE about what you feel. Do not ever sacrifice YOUR wellbeing, peace and true beliefs just to please someone else. But there is worth and value in taking some time to process things that the Ego might be involved in. It’s just not worth it. If it is a true reflection of how you feel and who you are, do NOT hold back in being truthful. But there are 1 million more WAYS to express how you feel, so choose wisely. But ofcourse, truthfully. A truly graceful, classy and loving person will choose to support her or himself and her or his loved ones and will choose the best way they feel is right to express their feelings. No tantrums. No punishing. No lashing out. A more peaceful world and healthier relationships that are peaceful, equal, compassionate and loving come from choosing love. Simple. And love would never judge, criticize or hurt. Love is graceful. Love is understanding, accepting and open-minded. Even if you feel some personal, private discomfort…get through it and give it some time. You will feel more free in the long term, and your relationships will always grow from good energy full of light, peace and true care. I think it is interesting to try to quantify, because I think that in order to create a more equitable peaceful world requires I do work on myself first. I must know how to treat myself with love and peace so that in making contact with others, i am able to be the best person that I can be. Furthermore, I think it does require an effort of asking yourself “What can I do for someone today?” 6 Reply Antoinette1 year agoAntoinetteLike Gandhi said: Be the light you want to see in the world! It’s easy to copy quotes and much more of a challenge to practice. I try to keep coming back to my motivation of love and truth and radiate out whatever peace and love I can. I try to do this through thought, word and deed. 6 Reply Linda1 year agoLindaBe kind and respectful to all living beings. 4 Reply Ann1 year agoAnnLike the song says, “Let there be peace on Earth, and let it begin with me.” 4 Reply Ed Schulte1 year agoEd SchulteWhat is my role in creating a more equitable, peaceful world? The “role” ? This is misleading as well, Humans are now actors on a stage! We are all ‘Gods in the multiplicity of the one God’ and our/my responsibility ( rather then “role” ) is to understand and fulfil the reminders given to us by Josheua Emmanuel the God-Man. So my responsibility is to serve the Divine Plan and join with Josheua Emmanuel and all his like-minded ones. Be Well Be Present Read More4 Reply pkr1 year agopkrBeing kind to all. Serving all. This may involve uncomfortable or even painful judgment of myself as well as treating myself with compassion and kindness. This ripples out to those in my sphere of influence even before I treat others fairly and with peaceful intentions. A thought for me to reflect on today… 7 Reply Mark Piper1 year agoMark PiperI am unsure of the distinction between role and responsibility and perhaps that’s irrelevant. Treat people with dignity and exhibit/execute that treatment with consistency. Be calm and slow to anger. 9 Reply Cathy1 year agoCathy*"Fairness and Equitable Treatment: Each person matters as an individual. Decisions and actions must consider the dignity and rights of the individual to be considered to be fair. Equitable treatment does not necessarily mean treating everyone the same. Treating people fairly may require different approaches that do not imply a lesser standard of performance." Wow, that's heavy. I can continue to represent so that ALL groups can live in peace and be equal. 5 Reply Cathy1 year agoCathyWhen we quit judging, we quit hating. You are a strong person, Michele, and I am thankful for you and for your calling to spread goodwill. My thoughts for you today are of peace and protection. 9 Reply Michele1 year agoMicheleThank you:) 0 Reply GCharlotte1 year agoGCharlotteMy role in creating a more equitable peaceful world is to be true to God in my ways.. 3 Reply Trish1 year agoTrishPart of my role is to challenge thoughts & behavior in a loving way. We are quick to judge one another, to really pick one apart without stopping to consider the big picture. Reminding others of our shared humanity can be difficult. It’s important stuff…. 6 Reply devy1 year agodevyAs humans we are all interconnected. By being at peace with oneself and focusing on a peaceful frame of mind, may our energy be transferred to others. 4 Reply 1 2 Next » My Private Gratitude Journal Write an entry in your private gratefulness journal Get Started This site is brought to you by A Network for Grateful Living, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
