When I reach more to an individual level, the moments of human contact, good will, compassion, good turns etc allow that faith to nurture. A bit like a plant in a glass house: it’s harsh outside in the bigger world but there’s warmth within. 1 Reply Cathy1 year agoCathySo well said, Malag. I often have difficulty putting my “feels” into words and this is one of those times. When I read your comment, I thought, “yes, this.” Like a plant in a glasshouse. ❤️ 1 Reply Hot Sauce1 year agoHot SauceMost people who have had a mystical experience say that no one is evil; sometimes, they do "bad" things because of their own fear and ignorance, sometimes exacerbated by old wounds. Even if I don’t understand why people do what they do, I can maintain faith that people don’t ever do what they do out of purely evil motives. Choosing to look for positive. And yes, turning off the news. Remembering what we are capable of if we will only work together. I saw an IMAX movie with my kids many years ago that I have never forgotten. It was very uplifting to me, pointing me ever higher. I am grateful for that. 6 Reply pkr1 year agopkrMy belief in a higher power guides me to believe in the good and to have faith in humanity. I want to be the “example”, perhaps it will spread and ignite kindness and love in others. In other words I am trying to keep my “vibration high”, coming from a good place. They can be atrocious humans to work for or with, terrible and abusive husbands and yet they will do anything for their retriever. This is not enough mind you, it is not to say that the ways in which we are less than we should be is in anyway forgiven by our love of one animal. And yet, for me it is a glimmer of something precious in an otherwise black and dusty mine shaft that shows me just for an instant that the capacity is there. And, as long as there is capacity there is hope. Read More5 Reply PhilG1 year agoPhilGKnowing that we are all connected. We are all one and when I take time to view the big picture, I realize how many people are giving everything for everyone. Recently I spent time in the hospital and every moment I experienced the dedication of health care providers. I was blessed with so many caring people who were there because they chose to make a difference. 7 Reply Trish1 year agoTrishThe everyday occurrences sustain my faith: calling on an elderly neighbor, assisting the single parent, chatting w/ the homeless person on the corner…..when we “see” one another it unites us. This is how the world is changed, folks. 4 Reply Antoinette1 year agoAntoinetteThe understanding of importance and that everything is deeply connected helps to sustain my faith. I am not a believer of blind faith, but when I look deeply with compassion and wisdom I am able to let go of wrong ideas or beliefs that create fear. I’m grateful for the path of mindfulness insight awareness which helps me come hone to the present moment the only place where we’re truly alive. My faith helps me to brave enough to let go of obsessiveness. 4 Reply sunnypatti1 year agosunnypattiThe connections I am fortunate to experience daily as I go to work.
