Mostly resiliency. My grandparents were survivors of the Armenian Genocide.
From my immediate family, love of music, sense of adventure, sense of humor and so much more.
    And, of course, life itself.

I look in the mirror now and see my Mom! I was only 14 when she died (she was 57)…I thought she was the best in the whole world…I am happy to see her reflection when I go to the looking glass…for it has been many years since I last saw her. I received the gift of love and how to love from her…and I received the gift of my love for animals from my Dad. Today, I reached the milestone of being 72 years old…an age neither of my parents reached. How Blessed I am…and I also have received good genes. I am healthy- and life is good. Happy Easter to all who Celebrate it…and Happy Sunday to everyone. I have missed writing daily. We leave for home on April 10th…and around the 19th- we will be home…and I will get back into my daily routines. Thank you all for your thoughts today!

My story is similar but different! My biological mother died at 38 and I was 21 months. When I look in the mirror, I wonder if I look like her.

I often think about all of the negative qualities and behaviors I inherited from my ancestors, so it’s really difficult for me to come up with anything I’d consider a gift… perhaps my love of music. However, Kevin’s response really does say it all — life itself.

I thank my ancestors, for their tenacity,
their humor, their curiosity, and their
passing along the spark of life.
This pulse of electricity that I carry with
me, is the same pulse that extends all
the way back to that first spark. Passed
on from life to life. Like a baton in a
relay race. My spark will end with me,
as I don’t have children, but the love
that I have has been passed to many,
and will be carried on in their hearts
like a small ember. Just like the way I
carry the love of others in my heart.
    Happy Easter ❤️

My first thought was my sense of humor, lol. I have Irish, German, Penna Dutch ancestry so good looks, good cooking, strength, superstitious all come to mind.
Happy Easter to all who celebrate. Enjoy time with family, friends, and loved ones.

Everything that I embody. My body, my values, and character have been influenced by my ancestors. When I look back at old pictures I’m glad my life isn’t as stern as they are pictured.

Everything about my body — brown hair, blue eyes, height, the shape of my nose. But they also gave me their resilience, their kindness and sense of humor, and their love.
To all those who celebrate it, I hope you have a joyous Easter!
