A year from now, it will not have the same power. If I can even remember it. Also, realizing that I have the power to make choices and to take one small step in a right, supportive direction. The ability to move out of the pain or emotion that is threatening to become a state. Finding signposts, and not letting emotional reactions be drivers, by realizing the value you hold dear beneath the problem, then...A history that tells me that no matter how bad a thing or time is, it does eventually shift. A year from now, it will not have the same power. If I can even remember it. Also, realizing that I have the power to make choices and to take one small step in a right, supportive direction. The ability to move out of the pain or emotion that is threatening to become a state. Having taken that step, I find hope to take more. For e.g. I feel sad… acknowledge that feeling. Why am I sad? Because I care… a signpost. I care, and to care is good. To go through the emotions and come out the other side and know that. It is still like the children’s book-We Are Going On A Bear Hunt-because most things you have to go through. When one of my grandchildren was in a difficult situation, I read it to him and it made sense to both of us at that time.
