I immediately thought of a blog post I wrote at the end of December 2018 with the title “More or Less”, suggesting this as a good way of approaching resolutions (which I don’t tie to January 1–a good idea is a good idea any time of year). A few of the items from that are still relevant:
More moving, less sitting.
More sleep, less late-night reading. (But books are awesome!)
More mindfulness, less impulse.
Today I would add:
More patience, less frustration.
More meditation and less ruminating! After reading what others have shared, I wanted to share a poem I wrote in 2009.
Now Here or No Where by C Conner
If one is not NOW HERE,
one is NO WHERE
The intellect craves a place.
The spirit flows like the wind into every nook and cranny.
When someone recounts an experience, they might say, “You had to be there.”
But to truly “be there” you have to “be here,”
Present to the one sharing the memory.
You can run “there” to get away from “here,”
But you most likely will find yourself
NO WHERE,
lost and disappointed.

taking more time for myself, and less outward judgements.
Trying to stay focused on wellness and trying to have less worry.
More accepting, less resisting. More presence, less reliving unpleasant moments of the past. More love and understanding, less judgement.

At this stage in my life I could do a bit more meditation and physical exercise, and of course, physical therapy. I could do less worry. Lots less.
More connecting and reflecting.
Less worrying and hurrying.
This is great wisdom. Thank you.
Balance is the answer and a constant struggle for me. Less worry more awareness.
The need for balance seems to apply to everything. Agree about the worrying too.
More- exercise, better food choices, random acts of kindness
Less – junk food, negative self-talk – I’ve gotten much better, it’s a WIP
More of meditation, more of spontaneous reply, and less of rejecting. Open up to devotion

Now Here or No Where
Your choice moment by moment
Very nice Carol. Thank you.
Thanks, Carol, for this clever reminder to me to Be Here Now.
Be awed by the wonder of the Universe. Worry less.
More in-the-moment living. Less fretting about my to-do list.
I should trust my faith more intently and worry less about the things I cannot change or control.
I could listen more intently, be in the present while listening. I could respond before being fully aware to a situation less.
Great advice.
I could do less thinking, ruminating, futuring and more being in this present moment. When I am totally present it feels so peaceful and joyful.
