Patricia3 months agoPatriciaI will keep practicing gratefulness today… 5 Reply Cathie3 months agoCathieWow – my future self…not something I often ponder. Besides the bare minimum of meditation, and yoga, maybe I will look into a class at the art center that just reopened since covid hit. I drove by the other day and the thought flitted in and then out. This question has brought that fleeting thought forward again. Thank you:) 6 Reply Howie Geib3 months agoHowie GeibI am in the process of doing a piece of writing, not necessarily geared towards anyone else to read, more as an act of closure on several incidents that have continued to impact my life. What one of my teachers calls soul wounds, with the intention of liberating my psyche. It has so far not been comforting, in fact quite the opposite, and yet, it feels like going to the dentist or something. There is no urgency or drama about it all, more a sense of now is the time. 13 Reply Dusty Su3 months agoDusty SuYes, this type of work is confronting, but eventually does free us from the wounds. At least, that has been my experience. It gets it out of my body and mind, as our body also holds onto these wounds. It puts it somewhere safe and gives us an objectivity. I hope it goes well for you Howie. 4 Reply Sandra3 months agoSandraStop, look, go … continue pranayama awareness practice throughout the day. Be gentle with myself. Nourish my body with healthy food and lots of water (after coffee, of course). Get some exercise. Talk about the future. Immediate plans and further out plans. Then at the end of the day, I will be grateful again for all of my accomplishments and connections, and get the rest I need to hopefully wake up again tomorrow! This question is a very timely reminder that I can take care of myself today and invest in myself today so I can be allergy free in future. There are many other serious medical conditions out there and I am not complaining. Instead I pray we all invest in ourselves today so we can be the people we want to be. I read somewhere, âdo something today, your future self ...I needed this question today. I have started suffering from terrible eczema and allergies over the past year that just donât go. Expect less and enjoy every moment. 11 Reply Lioness3 months agoLionessHave trust in it, have faith in what I am doing and that it will create the future I want. Lessen the anxiety associated with it and feel that it is already happening. 9 Reply Vincent-Edward Ciliberti3 months agoVincent-Edward CilibertiGood morning. I consider myself to be an elder now and I always wonder what the future might hold for my children, grand and great grandchildren thoughts rather than my future. As if it is not enough to endure hiccups in my country, all that I needed was the happenings in the USA. Not all is lost though as some people have the courage to speak up what I consider to be truthful? I consider myself apolitical, so please consider the link provided by somebody who happens to be alien to US politics....Good morning. He is devoted to this country, to health and opportunities for children, and to the cause of reversing climate change and its devastation on our natural resources. He was very natural and personable at the conference, and this video is planned and complete with symbols (not quite to my taste), but he made some very good points… one in particular I have been thinking about recently… that of “going along.” Going along is not necessarily agreeing, it can be disagreeing with evils but not having the courage to stand up. For me, this question of whether to keep my head only in gratitude or whether to speak up is clear… gratitude is false if we don’t stand with and for the safety and democracy of all people. Standing up and speaking up does not require aggression, but rather silence and complacency can be accomplice to aggression, as he so deftly points out.
