Yesterday was my last day of isolation after testing positive for Covid last week. In spite of being fully vaccinated and boosted, and wearing masks everywhere I go, like millions of other people, I still picked up the virus, and from where is a total mystery. During calls for prayer near the end of our online Quaker worship service yesterday, one person held up his aunt in advanced age, vaccinated, who is currently dying of Covid. Another Friend reports that a man in a neighboring state of 47 years, fully vaxxed and boosted, has died of Covid. Sadly, these stories are common everywhere. Yet, for myself as a man who had mild symptoms and is approaching 72, I get to live while others did not. Everything I see today is suddenly fresh. This afternoon I have my third Persian cooking class from a young woman from Iran . The contact started after I gave her a lift. Now we are very good friends.
