I have always been a nature lover and have seeked out awe without really realizing it. I also love to travel and see new places.
However I do work in an office but since covid I now work from home 2 days a week which helps me get outside more during the day and take the dogs for walks. I also recently moved so many new areas to explore which is a lot of fun!

My awe and wonder tank is pretty full now, but it is a mysterious life, so anything is possible.

I love this question..it gives me the opportunity to reflect and share about our new surroundings. After 65+ years on the east coast, we moved to the stunningly beautiful state of Colorado to be near our daughters. The landscape is so different here and I am in awe on a consistent basis as we explore all the beauty of God’s creation. Road trips galore! A recent one to Saguaro National Park in Arizona comes to mind….the cacti were truly awe-inspiring. A train ride through the Royal Gorge along the Arkansas River in Canon City Colorado and a trip to the Platte River in Nebraska to witness the Sandhill Crane migration. These are just a few.
And even in “ordinary” daily life there are new delights….there was a coyote sighting here in our community just the other day. I’m discovering new birds on our feeders to add to my bird list….different species out here in the wild west that we didn’t have back in New Jersey. Magpies and mountain bluebirds and hummingbirds, just to name a few.

Thank you for this question and for all that everyone shared…you are all an inspiration to me.

Often the quote of the day speaks to where I am being invited. Very grateful that today’s quote & reflection question are linked. That & people’s spontaneous reflections have helped me tremendously. Special thanks to whoever designed today’s reflection question!

Yesterday when I drove into town all the flowering trees, bushes, and many spring flowers were out and it was snowing and blowing. It was an amazing site. Our own lives seem like that. We just need to remember to look though the storms for the flowers. 🌨️❄️🌺🌺🌺

Open my eyes, look out the back window where there are plenty of trees, look up. Yesterday I saw a bluebird for the first time. Gorgeous! I have also been seeing quite the acrobatic squirrel out there. It bounces around on a younger bush with very flexible branches and few leaves at this point. Most of the squirrels stay on the mature trees out there, but this one is having a blast on its own little playground.

Good morning Pilgrim….I recently saw my first mountain bluebird! I was just so thrilled.
Squirrels are indeed very acrobatic! Back in NJ we spent a great deal of time shooing them away from the bird feeders that they always seemed to find a way to get to! No squirrels to speak of here in our Colorado community though.
Have the best day my friend 🥰

I do not feel I need to do more to “experience more awe and wonder in my daily life”. I have spent my life outdoors in rural and desolate locations in the mountains. I sometimes do the opposite and go to a city on vacation (sort of like going to a zoo) but usually it is to a mountainous areas or remote beaches. The main reason, I believe, is due to my life long fascination and wonder of the world. True wealth is not a bunch of numbers in a bank.

Dear Joseph, your closing sentence is so wise & profound. I totally agree with you. Have a blessed day, enjoy the fresh air & look up often. ✨

Pause to notice all that is around me, all that my busyness often consigns to the background — the intense blue sky, the many shades of green in the trees, birds flitting tree to tree, all the people around me.
