The small things like the smile my wife gave me and the fact that I have electricity and a computer to write on here.

I need to celebrate that my daughter is out of the ICU tonight!! I certainly had a very very bad scare. She had a cardiac arrest so I was totally unraveled for a couple of days. This was a first and hopefully a last. Thank you all for your warm thoughts and prayers. So greatly appreciated .

The calm before going to bed, finally resting, stopping the action, preparing for sleep.

Celebrate all of my blessings in life. It’s so easy to forget how amazing some things can be – fresh air, good food, family, my dog, my future. 🙂

I can celebrate a new day, after a good night’s sleep. I can welcome the rain that fell overnight, and the songbirds drinking from the puddles. I celebrate the furnace that keeps me warm. And the stocked kitchen from which I will soon make breakfast. I celebrate this question reminding me to pay attention, to go spend some time with God, and so I celebrate the silence, inviting me to sit still for a few minutes before going on with my day.

I can celebrate waking up. Again.
And, that my body is mostly functioning.
Also, that I have work that I find
interesting and allows me to provide
for myself and my lovely wife and
occasionally lend a hand to a friend.

The fact that I have this day, I had strength to move, I have people to meet and decisions to make is something to celebrate!

In our culture, we commemorate the death ceremony of an individual. Today marks the death ceremony of my hometown neighbor’s son. I visited my hometown last year, and upon my arrival home, the ambulance was also bringing my neighbor’s son back for the final moments. Now, it has been a year since that day. In this moment, I am celebrating for my husband because our family is still here, living together amidst the hardships of my parents-in-law’s cancers. I am celebrating for myself, even though I live halfway around the world from my family, at least we still have opportunities for gatherings. I am celebrating for my neighbor because although their son is not physically present, their love for him remains and will never fade.

    So many things:
The free time on account of my job loss, the free time to heal my eczema without the daily stress of commuting to work and meeting people.
My warm toasty home and my morning tea
This website and all the pearls of wisdom this community posts each day

I celebrate right now another day. My husband, Peter and I are on our winter trip…and each day is a celebration of usual routines and new things to see and experience. We may go into Mobile (Alabama) today. Our campground is about 20-30 away from there–It is a cloudy and maybe a rainy day. I sit here happy to hear my dog snoring next to me and the cats chirping as a Cardinal thinks the mirrors on our car and motorhome are a potential mate….he has been entertaining the cats now for the second day!! (and driving me a bit batty!!). So, I smile and celebrate this moment of happiness! Blessings to all who come here.
