Trish1 year agoTrishChildren are uninhibited: they scream in delight, run toward those they love with open arms & look at the world with a curious spirit. As adults, we take so much for granted. It reminds me of how important play is. Constantly engaging the imagination, unbridled curiosity, and attributing qualities to inanimate objects (a stick can represent a horse, indeed, BE a horse). The way they can awaken in me the same wonder at something or someplace new. Kids, especially young kids, tend to live in the moment. They live with their minds, attention, and energy all focused on what is currently happening. To love unconditionally. They emulate joyous efforts in life. Children embrace and trust life. They teach me how to let go of a mind that often isn’t satisfied with the way things are. Kids are good at being content with what’s occurring in the now. I really appreciate the combination of joyous effort and contentment residing in the present moment that kids almost effortlessly engage.
