Prove to me that there’s a level on which I am you, and you are me – and all aspects of our mutual alienation are ended. Is that waking up? Now that is Grateful. In fact my habit is to wake up overwhelmed. By practicing gratitude, I’m attempting to bring some much needed balance to my life. It’s helping me be more present and hopefully see the world as it is and not through a distorted lens. 4 Reply Ed Schulte2 months agoEd SchulteThe welcoming invitation to enter into the mornings meditation and contemplations …very nicely summed up in to-day “Word of the Day” Word for the Day Something precious is lost if we rush headlong into the details of life without pausing for a moment to pay homage to the mystery of life and the gift of another day. I gain a sense of joy, optimism and contentment which will influence my actions for that day to my benefit but also to the benefit of those who encounter me. 2 Reply Carol2 months agoCarolMy perspective for the whole day is much more positive…pain becomes easier to bear. Presence is easier to maintain. To quote Richard Rohr quoting mystic Caussade: “The purest form of spirituality is to find God in what is right in front of you—the ability to accept what the French Jesuit and mystic Jean Pierre de Caussade (1675–1751) called the sacrament of the present moment.” 4 Reply Mary Pat2 months agoMary PatI am relaxed, not tense at all. These last few days I have been having lots of- ugliness come up and out. I won’t bore you with the details, but the point is actually I am grateful! I’m grateful for this human life and having the opportunity to allow this garbage come up and out of me! Minds of inferiority, disgust, hate, greed, Blame, anger, distrust, fear, loathing and the list goes on. I look at this self and wonder who is this ugly person who has all this garbage inside? I am using this whole day or however long this may take to allow it to come up, see it and give it away – let it go. Some may call this giving it to god or the universe. This is repentance! I am truly humbled and grateful for this whole entire opportunity. 🙏 Read More6 Reply Hermann-Josef2 months agoHermann-JosefDear Antoinette, thank you for your lines. I like this honesty of yours very much. Because of my week English I read the commentaries very carefully , hoping to understand them right. I think we all know what your feelings and thoughts are at the moment. At least I do. You let go, so you know you are not this feelings that are coming up. I sometimes try to let go the one who lets go. Like in a restful deep sleep there is no garbage or anything else. 1 Reply carol2 months agocarolthank you for your reflection– your expression of gratitude was contagious… it motivated me to rekindle my own repentance… the price and the joy of being human … expanding our capacities of compassion for self enables compassion for others… it is a good day … Amitofo 1 Reply sunnypatti2 months agosunnypattiI love that you recognize the good in this process.
