I mailed my beautiful daughter a cozy blanket and a stuffed animal that is a horse after work today. Around the horse’s neck I placed a silk scarf. She will be doing Horse therapy on Sundays which is very exciting. She had a horse when she was about 14 yrs old but the family needed to get rid of the horses due to their daughter’s health. I am thrilled to say that she is also doing yoga and working out at her new program. This Mother’s heart is happy : )

It’s nice to hear of this good news Robin Ann. My mom had two horses – I am sure your daughter will love the horse stuffed animal – moms always know just the right gift to give.

The beauty in my fellow people. Today when I gave my share to one of the resident people here asking for money, he replied with a happy and kind thank you, and light footed he went on to the place where he could have lunch. Or to perceiving the joy in both of us today while meeting a dear one after almost 5 years. Grateful attention to the beauty of nature all around of course, and to the delicious food just prepared for tomorrow´s excursion. Just to name a few. Wishing a happy weekend to all of you, here and for everyone.

I am going to focus on my garden today. My California poppies are at the end of their flowering cycle & need to be tended to. They certainly were beautiful & bountiful earlier; a super bloom of sorts. Other flowers need attention too. I will also sow some more flower seeds today. Flowers make me happy.😊

This afternoon we will visit our grandson and his mom (my step-daughter and step- grandson). They only live about an hour away but we do not often see them..Grandson is busy with sports and friends. He turns 13 soon …a whole new world. I have had some challenges..being a “Step”…but today…I am going to see the beauty in this relationship and try very hard to only see the good.

Yes, Nannette, blended families can be a challenge, but it’s worth the effort. I hope your visit is a pleasant one.

I’m taking today off work to create a 4-day weekend. My intention is both relaxation/recharge and some chores that require a weekday. Some of my recharge time will be spent in our yard tending to raised beds, planting a bay leaf plant in a new pot, and checking the ripening progress of the strawberries (newly planted this spring and producing well), tayberries, raspberries, and honeyberries. Later my husband and I will walk to the farmers’ market along the water, watching birds and surrounded by green growing life. Beauty everywhere!

The beauty that one seed can create one banyan tree with the potential of creating millions of trees, and that this universe is just one mustard seed in a bag full of mustard seeds

I am always paying attention to the
visual beauty around me. It’s difficult
    not to. Shapes, colors, movements,
and the way they all interact. The
    juxtaposition of old and new.
But, today I will try to be attentive and
appreciative of the beauty of synchronistic
    Connections.
I found this description when looking up
    the meaning of synchronicity.
    “Synchronistic occurrences are formidable
and propel us forward with a surge of
    ephemeral courage.”

Author Barbara Brown Taylor says that we are called to be altars in the world, setting a table and inviting all. As today’s quote from Br. David says, “The greatest surprise is that there is anything at all – that we are here.” I will offer my attention to the everyday occurrences and the unexpected occurrences and do my best to see the beauty in them all.

“We are participants in a vast communion of being, and if we open ourselves to its guidance, we can learn anew how to live in this great and gracious community of truth.”

I have 2 .major events today. In both cases I will be with about 10 people. I will appreciate what gifts they offer to me and the gift I am to them.

Today I am focusing on the beauty of craftsmanship. My sweet, small, sturdy home was built in 1898. I am having the exterior remodeled to protect it for hopefully many generations. 5 focused builders have been working on it for 2 weeks now. Many challenges have occurred. There is no grumbling, rather problem solving and more effort. Each completed section is beautiful. It is a marvelous thing to watch it all come together.

I will offer my attention to whatever the earth presents today. Things are nice, green and colorful. The hay meadows grasses are heading, the red and white clovers are flowering, full of pollinators and soon. weather permitting. be harvested (no smell compares to freshly cut hay to me) to be irrigated once more and regrow a second time. The riparian area has many songbirds. Yesterday during my labors, I observed some yellow Wilson Warblers fliting amongst the willows and a pair of Bullock Orioles. The sky has had some clouds which also draw attention during the day. Today I will stop. look and be grateful for this day.
