I’ll try to remember that. The main stars of Orion in the winter is about all the constellations I typically see now. 3 Reply Cathie1 year agoCathieBreathing A pet A smile A dance A sharing The sun – then moon – the clouds – the stars The ocean A friend – a loved one – feeling loved A taste – a sight – a touch – a sound- a scent My feet hitting the floor each AM 7 Reply Patricia1 year agoPatriciaScattering a little deer corn for the deer as they go through this incredible arctic cold; making sure there’s suet and sunflower seeds for the birds in their feeders…. Sewing/quilting … Having a grandchild to cuddle … OH and my morning coffee and a fire in the fireplace insert. Ahhhhh. Thank you, God, for all such small, simple things that bring such joy (and aren’t really small or simple at all). 8 Reply sparrow1 year agosparrowYou are right, dear Patricia… these ‘small joys’ are not really small at all! For Joy! ♥ 4 Reply Holly in Ohio1 year agoHolly in OhioGetting up in the night and seeing the brightness outside, Everything brightened by the fresh snow and outlined with dark tree trunks, a beautiful negative landscape. I love the rhythm of kneading, seeing the rise when I check on it, and of course the smell of it baking in the oven. I’m starting to germinate seeds for the spring, even though the winter storm blows outside. Whether cold and indoors or in summer outside, I always get a thrill when I see the first signs of germination… their little green heads poking up. My husband’s patience with me when I’m grumpy, and he will listen attentively. It’s one of the ways I know how much he loves me, and it fills my heart with love instead of whatever I was feeling before. Putting on old, comfortable, clean jeans. Finishing a good knitting project or other crafty project. I’m close to finishing a classic “James Bond” vest for Cameron. Hearing laughter. Finding flowers in what I call the “scratch and dent” section of the grocery store and watching them thrive for days on my dining room table! I have some beautiful yellow spider mums and white orchids that I paid $2 for! And now I must mention my dining room table. It’s a large farmhouse style table that seats 8. I’m sitting on a bench at the head of the table now. When we bought our home last year, I wanted a farmhouse table for our farmhouse property. Everything was so expensive, so we bought a picnic table to hold us over. That was all good, but one day Konrad called me from the Habitat resale store, telling me he found the perfect table for only $300 (this particular store is usually pretty pricey on furniture).. He shot me some pics, and I couldn’t believe it. It’s beautiful and perfect and I love that we can host family for a nice meal since we both love feeding people! Oh how I love this table <3 Read More11 Reply Patricia1 year agoPatriciaOh, I need info on the cinnamon and cayenne in the coffee, Sunnypatti! I often do butter/coconut oil or MCT coffee – or with collagen peptides, etc – but I’m always interested in new variations, and the why of it. Thanks! 4 Reply sunnypatti1 year agosunnypattiCinnamon and cayenne are so good for us in their own ways and both immune boosters. Cinnamon tastes good (obviously!), is full of antioxidants, helps prevent blood sugar spikes, and good for brain functioning. Cayenne is good for the blood, helps with pain issues, good for digestion, and good for skin issues...but not good for those with stomach ulcers or digestive problems. Cinnamon and cayenne together make a tasty coffee, or at least I think so! Such easy, healthy additions to our diets. And a good way to add some flavor since I’d rather get my sugar intake from fun stuff like chocolate or ice cream. hahaha!
