For my family to be healthy and happy.
For my growing team at work to be proud of the work they do this year.
For my home to become more and more an oasis at the center of a growing garden.
    For my community to thrive.

I have many more hopes. I need to do more to plant and tend before I can claim I’ve done anything with their seeds.

Seeds of continued kindness, Resilience and Peace.
Speaking of seeds, yesterday I saw a Christmas tree for wildlife. Loved that idea!

As the rain tumbles down here and the waters rise, there is an awareness that fear is standing in the wings, ever ready to make an appearance on the main stage. But I am choosing blessing rather than fear.

My seeds of hope are actually seeds! And trees. My family and I just began planting a food forest on our property. It has been a dream of mine for a long time, and I plant it with the hope of feeding generations of my family to come. I plant it with the hope of a better future for our island community and our mother Earth.
    Happy New Year everyone!

My daughter, Bridget, just moved in with me – arrived safe and sound with her two cats last night. Seeds of hope for a beautiful new beginning of living together.
Happy New Year Everyone! Wishing 2024 brings peace, good health, happiness, love and magical moments for all.

As we kick off the new year I am planting the seeds of hope that I can be the best version of myself.

On this day, at the beginning of
another year, I am hopeful that the sun
will continue to rise, the moon will
continue to pass overhead, the water
will flow, the grass will grow, and I will
    continue to take deep breaths.

My seed of hope starts with a confidence in what I know. I will nuture these seeds by being open to information. To borrow what Joseph said to look at my capabilities.

I’m not sure. I am always trying to love better, to provide kindness and respect. I don’t feel as though I have more specific seeds to plant and tend than that. Love, kindness and respect fill my time quite nicely!

Happy New Year gratefulness family. I’m exploring a combination of planting and releasing. I’ve been actively releasing my limited thinking. During this practice, I’m even avoid re-releasing—I’m trusting that it’s one and done. I’m gently escorting entry doubt into the fire. Then, I’m tending the embers of new growth in my relationship as wife and mother. And a new role and remuneration at work. For the greatest and good for myself and all others involved.

I continue to plant and tend the seed of willingness…I share an entry from my 2021 journal:

“To be hopeful means to be uncertain about the future, to be tender toward possibilities, to be dedicated to change all the way down to the bottom of your heart.”  Rebecca Solnit

I would change one word: “…dedicated to willingness all the way down to the bottom of my heart.”

Why? Because accepting change requires willingness. Circumstances change but without willingness, we do not. One day at a time, one step at a time, be willing to evolve, to grow in personal awareness.

How do I embody this willingness when egoic longing is permeating every fiber of my being?  I do my best to remember that what I do matters. That each and everyone of us is a micro in the macro! When I can do that, my longing becomes belonging. I gain a new perspective. I’m part of something that is filled with potential. I’m wanted and needed and called to embody the hope that willingness brings into every situation. The quote about hope below from Jane Hirshfield says it all:

“This is my hope: that the recognition of shared fate might cause us to act  as if shared fate is the reality that in fact it is.” Jane Hirshfield
