Yesterday, about 6 friends got together…. But not too close …..to pack up my house and ready my 2 cats and dog Zigzag for their move to my new house—- an hour away—– where, united again, we’ll continue our quarantine. 4 Reply Brother Charlie11 months agoBrother CharlieI’ve followed a calling to service with physically and intellectually challenged adults for many years, now. And there is a “secret” joy in this vocation, not perhaps obvious to the public at large. The examples of generosity so many of these folks regularly demonstrate in my company is deeply instructive to me. I believe I have discerned in certain bodily hindrances gateways to humility, and grace. Hence are the “disabled” my most excellent teachers. And I am grateful for their lesson...I’ve followed a calling to service with physically and intellectually challenged adults for many years, now. This baffles modern anthropologists. But the symbology is very simple …each Human has three bodies …stating with outer ..physical, then psychical and finally, Noetical ….the inner temple has no body by normal definition. This principle was taught again by Joshua Emmanuel in his parable of the original Aramaic Matt 13:33 …. a women took three handfuls of flour ….mixed them together ….and leavening occurred. Indeed …it is very logical that …should the one passing through ( or observe others passing through) the three-frame doorway get “hung-up” on the first ( the physical ) fame ….distortions may occur to it ….but not to the two inner bodies, because they are unchangeable. That, perhaps, is what you are observing within your “teachers” …after all the inner temple is already there PERFECT in each and everyone of us, the so-called “physically disabled” are living opportunities of remembering the unchangeability of the inner Self no matter what the state of the outer. Joshua Emmanuel demonstrated that “hung-up”-ness humanity tends to fall into…..VERY literally!….. just to remind us of it. Have a gracious Easter Celebration! You’ve articulated so well the inner treasure I was alluding to, in examples of what differently-abled people have to teach – when we can but find the ears to listen. 1 Reply Ed Schulte11 months agoEd SchulteYou are welcome Brother Charle And as the Sufi prefer to respond ... Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after justice: for they shall have their fill. Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the clean of heart: for they shall see God. I was so moved and happy to hear about this kind and generous gesture of this unknown dedicated fellow colleague. 2 Reply BabaYaga11 months agoBabaYagaMy husband went out to donate platelets on the weekend; he knows that cancer patients depend on infusions right now. My son plans to stay over night so he can donate whole blood tomorrow morning, no appointments having been available near his home. 4 Reply Michele11 months agoMicheleThank you for your blood/platelet donations. There is a shortage and more people need to do the same:) 1 Reply TeriB11 months agoTeriBMany people are offering to help those who need to stay at home by getting their groceries, medications etc. I also see several people offering their services, virtual cooking and fitness classes, recipes, coloring pages for free. My neighborhood did a “Bear Hunt” for the children to find on walks (we all put bears in our windows). This week we put together a virtual scavenger hunt through our development. 3 Reply Hunter11 months agoHunterMy church did Zoom this morning. It was generous of our interim priest to figure out how to set it up. And especially generous of everyone to share some “roses, buds, and thorns” –the good things, the budding things, and the prickly things–going on in our lives now. I don’t feel quite so separated, knowing we’re all still able to touch. 4 Reply Tahsin Tabassum11 months agoTahsin TabassumTBH I haven’t I am stuck at home and being stuck is killing me 1 Reply Brother Charlie11 months agoBrother CharlieMany traditions teach a figurative “death” as elemental to the path of re-birth into a new and vital life. Maybe this is where you’re at, dying to an old paradigm of life as you’ve known it, in preparation for a grander, richer life. After Covid-19 there will undoubtedly be a new world, and there may well be an honored place in it which only you can fill! 4 Reply Tahsin Tabassum10 months agoTahsin Tabassumthank you for your nice uplifting reply ^_^ 0 Reply Ose11 months agoOseDear Tahsin, I feel so sorry for your feeling stuck. To be with such a feeling is not easy at all, when escape is not possible like during these days, where we all are asked to limit outer movements. I am with you in this. Let´s sit together for a moment, if you don´t mind, grateful for your presence here. 5 Reply Travis11 months agoTravisJust my friends being at my side is enough generosity for me. 2 Reply pkr11 months agopkrAll of the beautiful stories I have seen and heard about where all kinds of folks are giving, helping, serving, singing, playing, dancing, giving, cooking, sewing, driving, aiding, praying, doing whatever they can to give back, to serve, to help us all. I have been moved to tears so often in these last few days by all the love everywhere. Tears of Joy….❤️?❤️ 3 Reply Ed Schulte11 months agoEd Schulte“SELF ISOLATE as much as possible”. Expressed to all non-essential service workers. Self sacrificing, by way of Self Isolation, IS the most important expression of generosity during this and any epidemic. And yes, I am witnessing its effectiveness. 5 Reply Hunter11 months agoHunterI like thinking about the isolating as generosity. Thank you for that! 3 Reply Ed Schulte11 months agoEd Schultethis says it again abcnews.go.com/GMA/Family/icu-nurse-best-stay-home/story?id=69876687&cid=clicksource_4380645_4_heads_hero_live_headlines_hed 0 Reply GCharlotte11 months agoGCharlotteI Love You. 2 Reply Mica11 months agoMicaI experienced a lack of generosity in myself when I bought the last bottle of Chlorox in the store, even tho my old weak bleach would have been enough.
