The arising of the capacity to forgive everyone including myself everything. To move deeper in my meditations. To be at peace with and excited about uncertainty. To transform my limitations around resentments, envy, jealousy, greed, hatred, into strengths. And as working is no longer and option to having the means to feel safe, and secure– housing, food , transportation, act o0n interests, to support others, etc. , it is to win the lottery jackpot.

Always on my mind is waiting & hoping for my daughter to be well & sober! She is now in a new program and was referred to it by someone that knows her well and owns his own rehab. Very strict, no cell phone allowed. Beside that I am not waiting for anything . except maybe warmer weather! I am focusing on myself, exercising and trying to eat right. My motivation is my trip to Scotland at the beginning of Oct which will be lots of walks and hiking mostly at the Isle of Sky.

A great question. I am waiting to feel better. But what I am suffering from is old age, so that doesn’t get “better.” I suppose I’d better just get with t and do what I can with the time I have left.
Forgive unsolicited advice to the young ‘uns out there. What we regret ultimately is not the things we did that didn’t work out. (I’ve had many.) It is what we didn’t do – the “what ifs” and the “might have beens.” So – just say “yes..”

Good advice, Delores!! Savor each day….no matter how old we are- we never are sure we will have another tomorrow. Blessings!

Hello dear friends. i will wait for a response to a request just sent which may open way to move to another city here where I already come to join in almost every week for meditation. A grateful and heartfelt “Yes”, if this change is possible and meant to be. God willing, this might open ways to be able to be of better service for all concerned. Heartfelt greetings to all of you. Wishing you all may have a good nights sleep tonight. May you be blessed.

Some of what’s on my list is waiting for others to take action. Some is “waiting” in the sense of continuing to take my own actions and work toward a future payoff so I’m not really waiting. This is a very prosaic, pragmatic list.
I’m waiting for a general contractor to give us a quote on the cost of a kitchen remodel that we hoped to start on a year ago. We’ve been chasing contractors forever, it seems! This is the last house we ever plan to live in and my first kitchen remodel.
I’m waiting to find out what’s in the transportation budget our legislature will adopt by this Sunday, as that will affect the programs I oversee and my ability to hire more staff.
I’m waiting for this week’s fairly steady rain to back off and give me some sunshine breaks.
I’m waiting for my jaw to stop aching after yesterday’s dental cleaning that required full facial numbing with Lidocaine for me to withstand the many “zings” as they used their super-whiny ultrasonic cleaner tech.
I’m waiting for my wrist to finish recovering from the break last fall; still doing physical therapy 3x/day.
I’m waiting for my new computer to finish updating so I can reacquire access to work files in the cloud.
I went in search of poetry about waiting and found this post with 3 poems and beautiful photography http://transactionswithbeauty.com/home/fs2zxhmf35meb5sx2w8rp4jyhlmxph.
Rosemerry Wahtola Trommer, one of my favorite poets, has a number of wonderful poems on the theme: https://ahundredfallingveils.com/tag/waiting/

    What am I waiting for?

I sat here pondering the question. For me, waiting is to be open-minded and willing for whatever life is offering me in this moment, this day. I share a poem by David Whyte that expresses how I responded when I read today’s question. For me, life is process not product. I’m more concerned with what awaits me than what I’m waiting for. I know I’m in process and I want to be present to this process we call Life. I want to be awake to what is.

Everything is waiting for you by David Whyte

Your great mistake is to act the drama
as if you were alone. As if life
were a progressive and cunning crime
with no witness to the tiny hidden
transgressions. To feel abandoned is to deny
the intimacy of your surroundings. Surely,
    even you, at times, have felt the grand array;
the swelling presence, and the chorus, crowding
out your solo voice You must note
the way the soap dish enables you,
or the window latch grants you freedom.
Alertness is the hidden discipline of familiarity.
The stairs are your mentor of things
to come, the doors have always been there
to frighten you and invite you,
and the tiny speaker in the phone
    is your dream-ladder to divinity.
Put down the weight of your aloneness and ease into
the conversation. The kettle is singing
even as it pours you a drink, the cooking pots
have left their arrogant aloofness and
seen the good in you at last. All the birds
and creatures of the world are unutterably
themselves. Everything is waiting for you.

I love this poem; it’s one I’ve shared with my daughters (I record poems for them every so often in our shared WhatsApp space). Thank you for sharing it here–so apropos!

I’m with Yram on this one … consistent warmer weather. And I am especially waiting to get the whole family back together after a long winter and a lot of moving going on in my family over the past several months. We are now all within driving distance in states so much closer to each other. Actually, two states … Wisconsin and Michigan. My heart is full.

    Consistent warmer weather!
Serenity in the world, my city, and myself.
Good health for me, my family, and friends.
Strength and courage for the younger generation.
A sense of direction and discernment as I grow spiritually
    Successful reunions.

This is such a good question!
This goes to the question I often ask myself.
Why do I resist? What is behind the
urge to not commit. To not do the
thing that might be helpful or expansive.
Someone here used the term “willingness”.
When my intention is to be present, to be
in this moment, to be aware, than I am
not waiting for anything. Now, the trick is,
how do I plan ahead, set goals, and have
    aspirations, without getting caught in
the trap of “future tripping”? This is the
    balance the I am seeking.

First, I want to thank those who responded to me yesterday. I cannot tell you how much your kindness means to me. First I have to share my good news! My dog Clancy had an ultrasound and he was found NOT to have any cancer (of course it could be hiding – but the scan showed all organs to be clear!) That was wonderful news as last July another vet had said that Clancy had about 4 months left! We were devastated- and based many decisions on that factor. We were not going to travel this past winter as I wanted Clancy to be home..but we realized he liked to meet new people and he enjoyed travel…and so do we…so off we went. We are so grateful to have more time with our guy!! Thank you all for your support!

Next…what am I waiting for? Well, today we are having a couple that we met while traveling this winter. A lovely Canadian couple from the Montreal area are stopping by our home for an overnight. We plan to share a nice dinner and conversation with them. My husband made an area near his shop with a water hook up and electricity for RV’ers. This couple travel in a beautiful van that they did themselves …a great camper. So we are looking forward to greeting this couple that we met in the Apalachicola Forrest of Florida….as they travel back home. A great new day has dawned. Blessings and Thank you everyone!

I’m not waiting for anything. My needs are met, my wants are a list I can chuckle at. Creator has me right in the location and place where I have a role to “be” in the bigger cosmic dance.

Whatever comes along. Life seems more out of control with aging. I got an award for perseverance, flexibility and grace under pressure at work once. Retirement takes the same characteristics.
