I have such a great group of friends and we all work and learn together. I get discounts to shows and plan and share. I can smile at others and I have many excess items in my home and I will be giving them away as I uncover them.

I try to do this when I am able to. At work we buy gifts for children in need at Christmas time. I gave a few $ to a family sitting outside
a grocery store in need recently. In about a week I am volunteering at a food bank for half of a day. Last week we found out that my former supv is on hospice. Unfortunately she has cancer and is not doing well. We all chipped in to buy her son and family gift cards to help them out.

meeting my fellow people with kindness, alertness and with an open heart. Helping and taking care in this spirit. Just be in the moment (work in progress of course) and do my best possible. Do nothing also, if adequate, just be.

Plant trees. I can’t even begin to imagine the potential of a planted tree on all of the birds, insects and animals that encounter it, not to mention the folks who might pause momentarily to admire it.

Being considerate of the needs of others, staying engaged and attentive, providing support, asking questions, surprising others with generosity, smiling.

Yesterday I went for a bike ride to run some errands. I live in a pretty nice little town but yesterday was something extra. Every single person I encountered who was out walking or biking smiled at me, and many of them said something. These aren’t people I know–they’re people being neighborly. So much pure, simple connection! I’m naturally pretty smiley and I make eye contact and smile at strangers. Being the recipient of so much friendliness felt great, and it reinforces my tendency to extend that to others. One of the things I love about biking and walking for transportation is that they open me to so many more opportunities for these encounters than if I were enclosed in steel and glass.
Tomorrow is my birthday, and one of my friends offered to invite women to a ladies’ birthday brunch today to celebrate. About 7 of us are getting together at a great restaurant in a couple of hours. I did a bunch of canning this year–more than we can possibly eat–and I’m taking a selection of jars for each of them to choose if they’d like to take something home (pickled zucchini, pickled cucumbers, chow chow, piccalilly, eggplant caponata, pickled tomatillos–basically lots of vinegar involved). A birthday that involves me giving instead of receiving gifts feels great!

Kindness is the main thing, for me.
If nothing else in this life, I would
like to think I have been kind.
In this life, when being present and
kind are your goals, it sure makes
    things simpler.
I try to start with kindness. Always.

Today is one of my Aunt’s 70th birthday. I plan to surprise her with a gift cert to a nice restaurant near her. She had moved to a new area about a year ago and I don’t think she’s been to this one yet (and my daughter used to work there too).
Wishing everyone a nice peaceful relaxing Sunday – enjoy that extra hour:)

I think just being kind and aware of other people and their feelings and circumstances. Be courteous to all you meet…in all venues, gas stations, restaurants, the grocery market…just be kind to your fellow man.

My first thought was to recognize, by name, service workers. My second thought was to put “a bounce” in my greetings. The third thought was to be present to the moment.

In what ways can I “pay kindness forward? Most importantly by being present to What Is instead of ruminating about the past or worrying about the future. I can’t truly be present to others if my mind is somewhere else.

Opportunities to “pay kindness forward,“ present themselves in their own time and place.
And when that moment appears, it happens naturally, seamlessly, and without fanfare or notice. .

Being a bridge for peace between my loved ones such as don’t talk behind the back about other people even though it could give a benefit for myself. Promoting my loved ones to see goods about other people as I can. It means that I don’t be a bridge for fighting and evil. It is difficult and I don’t think that I have already success in doing it. However, it is a way that I can pay kindness forward. The idea is simple: just gently speaking for cultivating seeds of peace. When I speak kindly, my mind is calm, and my heart is open for a good smelt of the flowers of peacefulness.

Thank you for this reminder, Ngoc.
It’s so easy for me to fall into that
      gossip trap. 🙏

Good old-fashioned manners. Greet folks with a smile, hold doors open for others and open them for people that need assistance. Donate to causes that help other beings, when able. Small and simple things for the love of humanity. A little humor also goes a long way!

Yes, yes; especially to humor. Laughter is so good for the soul. We have got to laugh more. Laughter is what has & is getting me thru hard times, loss & sadness. It’s the best medicine & it is free.😅

Joe, your thoughts this morning reflect an integrated way of being in life which generates kindness. Several years ago, in an educational program I was enrolled in, I had a wise and skilled coach. He saw his purpose in life as “leaving people in better shape than he found them”. It seems your way of paying kindness forward would do just that.
