But not with all situations. I reckon I could do more. 4 Reply Drew Blanton1 year agoDrew BlantonEverybody else in this world. We need peace! 5 Reply julig1 year agojuligI want to offer support, to my self and my family. We had a lost last year that its been very difficult. and also to my self, i´ve been feeling lost and very sad. 7 Reply Hot Sauce1 year agoHot SauceTo be honest, I want to offer my support for certain causes, but I don’t know where to begin. I want to do something about gun violence, the environmental crisis, and wealth inequality, but I don’t know where to begin. 4 Reply Holly in Ohio1 year agoHolly in OhioOne little step each day. To address the environmental crisis, you can change little things in your own home that impact the environment, like using a little less water or energy, today... right now. For wealth inequality, where we shop matters... buy locally, from the little guy. For gun violence, we can address fears. I would aslo support my parents as it is hard to look after my grandma. I would support my students. 5 Reply Mica1 year agoMicaHmmm – I was just wondering if I could Seek support from my son, for my new MacBook. But I think I’ll email his daughter, who is not feeling well. Thanks for the question!! 4 Reply Lauryn1 year agoLaurynMy partner- he is not able to work due to the current lockdown. There is threat his place of employment will get shut down for good if this continues. I can provide financial support without any issues, but it’s emotional support that is difficult for me to express. I would like to figure out better ways of expressing that support. 8 Reply Holly in Ohio1 year agoHolly in OhioI think that is great, Lauryn. Sometimes we can emotionally support someone by connecting them with someone else they can talk to. As much as I would like to be a listening ear to my husband in all things, sometimes I’m too close, but an old buddy or a sibling can be just the right thing. Maybe this would work? 2 Reply Carol1 year agoCarol“Do your best and then relax. Let things go on in a natural way, rather than force them.” I love today’s quote and I really needed it. Doubt I could be of much help to any one today. Self care, non-resistance, moment by moment acceptance is today’s mantra. Blessings to all and thanks for sharing your thoughts and feelings. It is very helpful. 7 Reply Linda1 year agoLindaMy sister who is 64 was just diagnosed with Covid. She lives in another state so I cannot travel there safely. She currently has no symptoms and I really hope it stays that way. My niece has already gotten it and has experienced fairly severe symptoms, but she is young and does seem to be on the road to recovery. Obviously I will be offering my support to both of them, even though I am not physically near them. 6 Reply Dusty Su1 year agoDusty SuHoping, praying, that all goes well quickly and easily for them both and that you can have a sense of peace about this difficult situation Linda. 2 Reply Linda1 year agoLindaThank you, Dusty. 2 Reply Dusty Su1 year agoDusty Su❤💕👍 1 Reply pkr1 year agopkrMyself. Lots being asked of me these days & I am weary & tired. I hope to be better at self-care today, next week, next month…….etc. I will spend more time in prayer, meditation…..🙏 9 Reply Mica1 year agoMicaAnd in fun and laughter, maybe, and going outdoors? I read an article by a woman who was on a plane flight and tried all the meditation techniques she knew without any success, and finally she just decided to go with humor, and she relaxed. Warm wishes to you, pkr! 4 Reply pkr1 year agopkrMica, thank you for your response. Yes, yes to laughter. I have been trying to make a point to laugh, to find funny, maybe not enough tho. Thank you kindly for your reminder. And yes to Mother Nature, a very big Yes. Happy New Year to You…May your blessings be many. ❤️ 2 Reply Mica1 year agoMicapkr – I went to a laughing yoga class once – it was sort of strange – everyone lying on the floor and making laughing sounds. One way to laugh, I guess. Some guy was famous, many years ago, for curing himself with humor, when ‘modern medicine’ wasn’t working. Ah – I was trying to find the person, so I googled ‘humor cure’ and there are lots of cartoons. That can be fun. … Norman Cousins! He’s the guy who made it famous. warm wishes – 1 Reply Dusty Su1 year agoDusty SuYes, I can heartily agree to add laughter as a chief invigorator to the list of stopping/helping burnout. I conduct laughter therapy sessions, even for those at end of life. I am a world laughter ambassador and in the right amounts, without even the need for humor, laughter produces feel good hormones, connects us to others, and gives a holy, happy internal massages. Not to poo-poo meditation, as it is fantastic for some, but as Mica said, not for all perhaps. Anyway, add a little laughter, humor and hugs and they might help too. I sometimes host Zoom sessions publicly and then often privately for organizations, particularly medical ones and around end-of-life training, believe it or not. All the best, and many, many mirthful laughs your way each day! To my experience, when sometimes being able to listen to the stillness underlying everything and to listen to His will with an open heart, the best way of supporting another appears when considering the one and the whole. if it is meant to be, even the Grace of healing may arise, this gift of sorts and deeply humbling experience, filling each one concerned with deep gratitude. 5 Reply Maeve1 year agoMaeveTo myself. Especially today, as I feel annoyed about sharing space with my 6 housemates, and particularly our very small kitchen! And to ask for support from my teaching colleagues, as the Christmas / New Year’s break ends, and I take a deep breath and plunge back into teaching tomorrow, remotely. I want to connect with other teachers, and have us support each other organically and easily every week. That’s what I am putting out for this new year. A year of mutual support and connection. 8 Reply Mica1 year agoMicaOh, Maeve, those are wonderful plans – hugs to you! 2 Reply Journey1 year agoJourneyI can offer support to those that ask and I can offer support to those that don’t ask by discerning that they need something. I think more importantly, I can offer support without judging. 5 Reply Mica1 year agoMicaI like that, Journey – ‘support without judging’!! 3 Reply Mike S1 year agoMike SFor many months I’ve had such a hard time emotionally but the best I could do was to give myself support. As I am starting to feel more whole and I have an intention to reach out to members of my church who I know maybe having a hard time and I will give them a call. It will feel great to not focus so much on myself but to be in service to others. 7 Reply JDS1 year agoJDSToday I offer continued support to myself. I am working through the grief of losing my dog . He was 15 yo and it was time but still so painful . I can not “get around it “ but have to go thru it . We had a great journey together and I know in time this pain will be replaced with happy memories . 11 Reply devy1 year agodevyM’y sympathy to you. May the good memories you shared help you through this difficult time. 1 Reply Malag1 year agoMalagSo sorry,JDS. He was lucky to have you on his journey 1 Reply Michele1 year agoMicheleDeep sympathies on the loss of your beloved dog. Pets are family. I have felt your pain. 0 Reply pkr1 year agopkrDear JDS, I am grieving my beloved Daisy, our cat. She crossed the Rainbow Bridge about a month ago. I was not able to be with her, as I am many miles from home tending to sick family. I am heart sick over her passing as is my husband, who is having a hard time, too. I send you love & hugs & wish you well. Yes, it hurts…….be gentle with yourself. 🙏❤️ 3 Reply Ose1 year agoOseDear JDS, I feel so very sorry for your having lost your beloved companion. May your grieving slowly subside. I am with you. Warmly, Ose 5 Reply Holly in Ohio1 year agoHolly in OhioI do offer support, pretty much every day I think. But often the person I put at the end of the support list is myself. Something happened yesterday, something minor, but it hit a tender spot and upset me quite a bit. Today I think I should try to support myself first. The Word of the Day for me today was perfect. I think I do my best most of the time, but the relaxing part, feeling I don't have to force myself to be better, perfect... in some areas I have a wound, and that's not so easy. ...I do offer support, pretty much every day I think.
