Quite honestly, the first thing I thought of was my soul, and my spirit. For me, they are two different things and I am really grateful for both.

I am grateful for my heart beating without my having to tell it to do so. It just keeps going. Amazing!

I am grateful for the 4 seasons where I live and natural beauty. Lots of land that is turned into conservation land and living near the ocean. I am very fortunate to have found this little state and love it here the past 25 years. We do not have sky scraper hotels and buildings along the coastline.

    Water…

Thinking of the blessing ‘In Praise of Water’, by John O’Donahue. Found this beautiful reading. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v4WfNrGEymo.

Also the story of Miriam’s well, which I was recently introduced to / reminded of. Kind of feels like where life begins and ends. So soothing and comforting….

Thank you Charlie T. and Joseph. Water is a pretty important thing in daily life here in the Pacific Northwest as well …

Usually, the next thing on my list is
clean and available water. It’s so easy
    to take this irreplaceable resource
for granted, especially here in California.
    And just a gentle reminder,
meat production is the number one
user of water world wide. This includes
feed crops. I’m not advocating a
Vegetarian diet necessarily, just a more
moderate use. All things in moderation.

As Dylan Thomas wrote, “The force that through the green fuse drives the flower”: The natural processes embedded in every seed that lead to unfolding, to growth, to food and shade and shelter and delight for the eyes.

The water….whether it be the small creek passing by my house, or a beautiful lake …or the majestic oceans…Water is something that i am always grateful for…and it brings me great joy.

The sounds of nature. I especially love to listen for bird song in the spring. Right now, the sounds of a gentle spring rain. The chatter of squirrels as they race up and down the evergreen tree in my back yard.
