Butterfly1 year agoButterflyThings in nature surprise me and fill me with joy, like the woodpigeon that wandered into through the patio doors yesterday and had a good nosey round! I put food out every day so it must have assumed it would be safe to wander indoors not realising that I have a cat!! Fortunately she was asleep upstairs on the spare bed. And the joy I feel when I am able to realise the spaciousness of Being is wonderful. Blessings to you all 💜 7 Reply Holly in Ohio1 year agoHolly in OhioLol. Sounds like my cat, Fisher, who frequently misses all the action to get a good nap! Sounds fun, Butterfly! 4 Reply Kevin1 year agoKevinRight now, at 4:15 AM in the morning, I just sat down intending to respond to today’s question, when through the open window I can hear coyotes off in the woods howling in the predawn darkness. And they’re loud! Every now and then we hear them, sometimes noticing by their sound that they’re on the move doing what coyotes do. We live smack-dab in suburbia, and the undeveloped track of woodlands across the road and beyond a row of several other houses isn’t larger than a quarter-mile wide squared. Some people find the howling sounds of coyotes eerie, especially when they’re on the move. But whenever I hear them, I find myself saying, “Good for you…and welcome to the neighborhood!” For whatever reason, their presence and their howls make me smile, a slice of joy before the new day dawns. What are they teaching? 🙂 3 Reply sunnypatti1 year agosunnypattiI get surprised by joy in some way every day… when our dog or cat comes up for a nuzzle of love while I’m reading or doing yoga, when my husband grabs my hand for no reason, when a butterfly pops into the garden with me or my favorite song comes on the radio… there are lots of examples, for which I am grateful 🙂 9 Reply Christine1 year agoChristineThe question “Do you want to play on a church organ? It will be for the first time in my life, and it is going to happen in a few hours. I have joy in advance, just thinking about the music that fills the whole church.😊 13 Reply Holly in Ohio1 year agoHolly in OhioHA HA! Adventures never end! 😀 Happy for you, Christine. Have a great time! xx 4 Reply Christine1 year agoChristineThank you, dear Butterfly. The sound of an organ is wonderful. Impressive. Xx 4 Reply Kevin1 year agoKevinGood morning, Christine! I’m very happy for you. Even though I am not a musician, I know people who do play the piano and who would jump at the chance to play a church organ…the bigger the better! Sometime, I will need to share with you a story, all true, of the efforts and antic to remove an antique church organ out of a sanctuary in order to replace an old wooden floor. But for now…good luck…have a blast…and enjoy what I hope will be a recital of pipes! 4 Reply Christine1 year agoChristineDear Kevin, I am so so grateful that I had the oppertunity to play on this beautiful organ. They asked me for next sunday again. It made me shy. I love to hear your story about the antique church organ. And I think everyone else here wants to hear your story to. 3 Reply Cheryle1 year agoCheryleWhen I have stepped outside of an evening and saw the exquisite beauty of a crescent moon with a star beside it! I have seen this really quite a lot… Maybe I forget how gorgeous it is! I feel really surprised by joy every time I see this, (there are so many (millions) of ways I could have answered this question… Love and Blessings to all 13 Reply Mica1 year agoMicaWhat fun, Cheryle – I’ll look for stars by crescent moons. There aren’t many stars here, but maybe there’s one. 2 Reply « Previous 1 2 My Private Gratitude Journal Write an entry in your private gratefulness journal Get Started This site is brought to you by A Network for Grateful Living, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
