One in which my daughter is in a small sober community full of support and able to have a good relationship with her son. Where my son is happy in his job and his life partner. This would bring me much peace and joy.

I don´t know. It would be a peaceful day, i guess. And may be meditation would bring me closer.

My ideal day…? that is a good question. Knowing that my family and animals are well and safe is a good start, Waking up with my husband, having my cats and dog near by, coming to this site, taking time to read …Today listening to the rain on the roof! I would love to see sunshine; but I am enjoying the sound of the rain – and looking out my windows and seeing the drops in the puddles. Feeling good- being able to walk, do tasks, speak…all Blessings that I am very thankful for. Today is an Ideal Day!

Well, today will be pretty close to ideal.
I’ll have time to take care of myself and
lend a hand to a friend.
It all starts with a strong cup of coffee,
    meds, contemplation, yoga, meditation,
some house chores, a few hours of work,
help a friend buy a car, dinner and relaxing
with Elena, some reading, and an early bed.
I guess, if I could, I would add some time in
nature and maybe some time in service to
others, work on a project, play some music,
maybe do some art, spending un rushed time
with friends talking about our lives and the
    world, exploring somewhere new, meeting
new people, and on and on and on…
But the days are short and I’ll take whatever
today has in store for me.

My ideal day takes multiple forms. I’ve been having fairly ideal days with some time off: wake up whenever I want to, drink some coffee, talk with my sweetheart, have my morning poetry and reflection time, go for long walks, get out in nature, do a little yoga to get back into what used to be a regular practice, read, work on the big jigsaw puzzle I’m doing, eat good food, have an occasional outing somewhere, see friends. Pretty simple.

Today is a work day for me so I’ll say an ideal work day is one in which I don’t have so many meetings that I’m worn out, and instead I have ones that jazz me up with energy from collaborations, ideas, and progress. I get some time to think deeply or to concentrate on a task, and I’m able to take movement breaks to charge up my brain. Fortunately, today is such a day because so many people are off this week and I only have a couple of meetings on my calendar. I can take the step of protecting more of my calendar time for those “think blocks” going into the new year. I can also reset the way I think about meetings–I often implicitly view them as something that keeps me from my work instead of fully embracing them as being actual “work work”. Being more mindful about the purpose of meetings, preparing for them, and getting to outcomes will make them feel more useful and less like interruptions to the flow of the day.

A day when I am present, going with the flow and giving thanks for what it offers–noticing, accepting and caring. Did you see the full moon last night? One moon…one creation…one evolutionary journey. When I look at a full moon, I am reminded that it is reflective light. It needs the sun just like we need each other to show us the way! I share a poem I wrote about 15 years ago when I was living in AZ, a land with breathtaking sunrises and sunsets. It’s called “The Moon Knows.”

    The moon knows
    that it is not
    the light

    Without the sun
    it would not
    rule the night

    Like me
    sometimes
    it turns within

    a sliver
    then half
    then whole again

    Dark clouds
    may hide it
    from my view

    Dark clouds
    I know
    I get them, too

    The storm
    they bring
    will always pass

    The sun
    once more
    its light will cast

    Upon my sliver,
    my half
    my whole

    New light
    arises
    in my soul

    A moon child
    I will
    always be

    It’s light
    my guide
    through stormy seas

Love this Carol – I will share with my best friend – she just had gotten me a crescent moon solar powered stake for my yard – I love it. Her and I used to howl at the moon together.

A day with weather that is amenable to going outside, even if it is to the dumpster! Time for reading – always. Sunshine always raises my happiness level, and when there are squirrels and birds out back to entertain me, that adds a bit of entertainment. Blessings on the day, Friends!

An ideal day is one where I do the right things for my body, mind and soul. Where I am kind and understanding towards others. An ideal day is one where I know I’ve done my best and been my best self every hour of the day.

I’m with Joseph – every day is an ideal day. A new opportunity to live and interact with the world around me. To make the most of each day, I try to share light, stay grounded, care for my body, and find/make some joy.

My ideal day isn’t about a particular itinerary. I could have my ideal day anywhere in the world. But would make it ideal is ease. I have a job that deals with a lot of personalities and I have two small children and four animals. My ideal day would just be everybody at peace. This isn’t about the outside world. It’s about where we are centered.

This question took me back to the question on 12/24;, “in what moments do I feel most content?”. When I can look back on a day, and recognize that I have cared for my, and sometimes others, mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual health, I would call that an ideal day.

A day with less, a lot less pain, would make me feel like this was an ideal day.
