Spare water whenever possible, instead reuse it, if possible. 3 Reply ROSAURA YU1 year agoROSAURA YURecicling, avoid plastic bags and conteiners! 4 Reply BabaYaga1 year agoBabaYagaOMG. There are so many practical things I can do. Walk or use public transit--no Uber. Buy necessities where I can refill containers--in Toronto that's at BareMarket or Unboxed. Do not shop online--there are thousands of vehicles delivering parcels per day in my city. Carry a cloth bag in my pocket or back pack. Drink tap water--no bottled water, ever. Cook at home to avoid takeout food or drinks in single use containers. Make my own yogurt--eliminate plastic containers entirely for that. Follo...OMG. There are so many practical things I can do. Walk or use public transit–no Uber. Buy necessities where I can refill containers–in Toronto that’s at BareMarket or Unboxed. Do not shop online–there are thousands of vehicles delivering parcels per day in my city. Carry a cloth bag in my pocket or back pack. Drink tap water–no bottled water, ever. Cook at home to avoid takeout food or drinks in single use containers. Make my own yogurt–eliminate plastic containers entirely for that. Follow a 100-mile diet and support local farmers–eat in-season fruits and vegetables; wait for asparagus season and then indulge. Wash dishes by hand in minimal water using unscented soap with no chemical lathering agents in it. Say “no thanks” to the dentist’s offer of a plastic toothbrush and dental floss in a plastic container, all put in a single-use plastic bag. This is a wonderful, thought-provoking question. I do, however, think what WE do as community can make a big difference. It will encourage US to stay the course, set better intentions, begin again when one of us fails. Cheers for WEs, or USs!! 3 Reply Present Moment1 year agoPresent MomentJust logging into this site and joining your energy with the rest of ours is a contribution. When I support locals they in turn support the town which supports the locality which supports the county which supports the state, ad infinitum. May cost a few minutes/pennies more but at least you’re supporting YOUR neighbors… sb 9 Reply hans1 year agohansI can offer strangers, fellow passers-by,  a brief moment of connection and a smile of acknowledgement and kindness…. 8 Reply Tom Denham1 year agoTom DenhamI am going to chair a 12-Step meeting tonight for a friend who is out of town. It really doesn’t take much to pick up a piece of litter on a walk in a park and yet, it is those small things that can make a positive difference in our world. Today and yesterday I picked up 1 piece of litter in the park and I’m amazed at how happy it made me. Definitely going to keep doing it 🙂 1 Reply Zoe1 year agoZoeThis planet Earth is our home and so, I don’t understand how or why people litter. I can only do what I can do and yes, it makes me feel happy when I pick up even just one piece of litter. I do noticed that when a park area or pathway is litter-free, people don’t trash it so much. And perhaps, when someone sees me pick up a piece of litter, they might think about not littering, I can only hope. 0 Reply 1 2 Next » My Private Gratitude Journal Write an entry in your private gratefulness journal Get Started This site is brought to you by A Network for Grateful Living, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
