Create ABC task lists of importance the night before and eat my frog first each morning (do the unpleasant tasks first) rather than getting swept up in life’s demands. Build in good practices as a priority that would make up a good life. A real trap for me is social media/personal messages from all around the world. Not for the entertainment, but to respond to some genuine life and death, or deep and meaningful inquiries/discussions. I show up for other’s needs, but not always enough to LIFE. You cannot give from an empty cupboard and I’d like to have lived out my life with a good balance of give and take, of doing and being. I am getting better at this as I age, but needed the reminder today through this question. THANK YOU! But they are best served up first and over and done with so that dessert can be enjoyed…ha! 2 Reply Javier Visionquest1 year agoJavier VisionquestBark less, wag more! “Complaining digs us deeper into our emotional ruts. Humor, compassion, forgiveness, and gratitude are the 4-wheel drive of a joyful heart.” 3 Reply SK1 year agoSKBy being mindful of this one moment which is all I have. 1 Reply Linda1 year agoLindaI spend too much time on my computer in the mornings, reading the news and answering emails. I am retired and it can really become a time sink! If I stop after a certain amount of time, no matter what, I think I will be more available to life. 4 Reply Dusty Su1 year agoDusty SuI am so guilty of this too… 1 Reply GratefulOne1 year agoGratefulOnePay more attention. I admit I do not pay as good attention as I should sometimes. I am re-reading a book called Socrates Express by Eric Weiner. One of the chapters is called “How To Pay Attention”. The writer references French philosopher Simone Weil. Here is a quote : “We do not obtain the most precious gifts by going in search of them but by waiting for them.” – Simone Weil 2 Reply Don Jones1 year agoDon JonesIf I don’t do what I cannot do, that is OK, but if I do not do what I can do, then my life will be a tragedy. 4 Reply GratefulOne1 year agoGratefulOneGreat quote 2 Reply Neil1 year agoNeilBy noticing & feeling my emotions free of judgement and then taking the time to look at their origin and determine if they are helping me stay connected to love, gratitude and kindness. 2 Reply Elaine1 year agoElaineBy giving much less psychic energy to regrets and self criticism — tendencies which are tiresome and life denying. 4 Reply Nelson1 year agoNelsonI’ve been committing myself to a specific time of day everyday to stop working. Last night, I actually finished my things to do list early. Although, at first, it felt awkward to be complete. Then again, I’ve been doing some mental health work around my feelings of inadequacy. So I did what I’ve been advised to do and do something that makes me feel good. I treated myself to some wine and snacks. I sat outside to watch the sunset with my 2 dogs. I must say, I became so calm and centered. 4 Reply Holly in Ohio1 year agoHolly in OhioThis was helpful to me, Nelson. Thank you. 3 Reply Toni1 year agoToniGet rid of debt. Let no debt remain outstanding except to love one another. Romans 13:8 A friend just got locked out of owning an apartment due to dept to income. I didn't know what that meant so I looked it up. It showed me that I must reduce a credit card debt in order to increase my credit score in the event I plan to move at some point. It was a wake up call to me. When you know better you do better. Now it’s time to start exploring that again. 4 Reply Yram1 year agoYramJust by showing up! 6 Reply Cliff1 year agoCliffBreathe and as best possible be in and aware of the present. Listening seems like a reasonable venue to availability. 4 Reply Patricia1 year agoPatriciaI looked at this question just in terms of my last 24 hours… and I realize I was “available” in a variety of ways – to a friend in need, to one of my daughters… to the hummingbirds who needed fresh sugar water in their feeders…to….there is a list. It’s a question to ask every day: was I available? And did I choose wisely as to what/who to be available to? 6 Reply DeVonna1 year agoDeVonnaBy taking care of myself so that I will be here! I, take my daily walk, take my medicines on time, take my vitamins, eat right, pray and meditate, support my faith community. 5 Reply devy1 year agodevyAvailability to life? Perhaps by removing myself out of my comfort zone and trying new experiences or means to grow into the person I am meant to be. 5 Reply Michele1 year agoMicheleOk, this question has me wanting to be an advocate for organ and tissue donation:) People can be more available to life after death by choosing to donate. Organ donation (heart, lung, liver, kidneys, pancreas, intestine) saves lives while tissue donations (cornea, tendon/cartilage, valves, veins, skin, bone, birth tissue) help improve lives. https://www.donatelife.net/ 8 Reply GratefulOne1 year agoGratefulOneHi Michelle, thanks for this. I became an organ and tissue donor and was glad I did it. 2 Reply Michele1 year agoMicheleThat’s great! 0 Reply RATASHIQ1 year agoRATASHIQDAILY QUESTION, JUNE 13 What are some ways you might make yourself more available to life? Well worth watching……….and then reflecting on those reflections ……….from my notes this morning………….We said that Absolute Being-ness is Life. The primary natures of Absolute Being-ness in all beings are Total Wisdom, Total power and Total Love, forming a sacred triangle. Each nature depends on the other in order to be properly expressed. Symbolically, the triangle of life is represented at the top of the Symbol of Life. Absolute Being-ness, Christ Logos, Holy Spirit. Total Wisdom, Total Love, Total Power. *** Deep meditation is needed on the triangle of life.*** Read More4 Reply 1 2 Next » My Private Gratitude Journal Write an entry in your private gratefulness journal Get Started This site is brought to you by A Network for Grateful Living, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
