The outward signs of success are just fragments. As for sincerity I hope I surround myself with people who are mostly sincere most of the time. 5 Reply Cathie1 year agoCathieI am not quite sure what is meant by then end of the question: that comes from sincerity? And I never have had a role model or someone I tried to emulate. So I am at a loss for an answer. 5 Reply sb1 year agosbLike Carol, my first thought was how lovely that everyone here is defining success by the good that is done rather than material success. As always, my Mum springs to mind -her whole life has been devoted to thinking of others before herself, something that she believes in incredibly sincerely and she has been so successful in so many ways – generations of school children have benefited, as have family members, “adopted” family, adults in her music group, my foster children, her friends…the list is endless and equally all have enriched her life. My aunt was a headteacher and was sincerely devoted to getting the best for and from her children. My husband who quietly does good around the Parish, often unnoticed except by those to whom he makes a huge difference to their quality of life, is sincere in his wish to help his community. I try to live up to them all. Read More6 Reply Don Jones1 year agoDon JonesAs I gaze out the window into the pre-dawn, the full moon is beaming. Not any full moon, but the anniversary full moon of the Buddha’s enlightenment. This day all of those years ago, a Truth unfolded and continues today. What can be more sincere than that? 6 Reply Melissa1 year agoMelissaMy grandmothers both immigrants from Italy. They cooked homemade dinners for family and friends every single Sunday of their lives. They loved everyone unconditionally and worked from dawn to sunset and beyond helping their friends, family and community. Also they laughed a lot and made me so happy as a child growing up. I can still hear them singing in the garden. 7 Reply dcdeb1 year agodcdebMy ex is highly successful at what he does. I include them here because I found them interesting but I must say I found the best definitions for both words when I read your responses to the question.
