How might you show up with more integrity today?

  • Present Moment

    By offering myself, warts and all, in service of a higher wisdom.

    By expressing myself congruent with my values and insights. Today while speaking with my chosen mother, to be with her in my heart while sharing some actual difficulty happening around her and kindly but clearly expressing what I feel would be helpful in this situation of reactivation of old painful stuff. Free to share my standpoint, while still being open for the possibility that I could be wrong,

    Like so many words, integrity has multiple definitions. The second definition of the word gets at this idea of "wholeness" and "cohesion". I kind of like that definition more than the more commonly used definition for integrity which is honesty and morality (according to the Oxford dictionary.)     Today, I will be showing up with more integrity by officially beginning my journey of avoiding driving to run errands. This will help me to be a better steward of the environment, God-willing, and will remind me to focus less on materialism and more on the importance of living ethically.

    I can show up with more integrity by checking in with my motivations and drivers. By questioning the true reasons for my actions. I can also be mindful of my thoughts and emotions and ensure my words and interactions with others are not being influenced by negative thoughts or emotions. I think general awareness and being mindful of thought, word and deed and making sure its coming from a good place within us will help me have more integrity.

    I too am dealing with work challenges. Today, literally this day, due to work schedule of encountering “the challenge” I’m “suiting up” & striving to walk the higher road. (& not let criticism kick in).

    I can show up with more integrity today by staying silent. In other words if I have nothing good to say, say nothing at all. I have a new “boss” at my work, and well let’s just say this “boss” is a Challenge. There has been a lot of b.s. and negative chatter surrounding this “boss”, so I will practice staying silent and not engage in the b.s. It is so depleting, this kind of energy.

There is a chapter titled, 'Silence and the language of complaining' and Will says, 'Silence affords the opportunity to choose to speak from your higher self rather than your human self, silence is a bridge to the Infinite'.         Dear Sheila, thank you for your kind and thoughtful response. I am going to look for the book you mention. It sounds right up my alley! I am sooooo worn down by all the noise, the constant complaining, the gripes, all the negativity everywhere (not just the workplace).
        I am not so sure I am a blessing in my work environment, if anything I feel “I am in the way”. Thank you for your kindness. ❤️

    I think I need to show up to myself with more integrity. Recovery from hand/wrist surgery has been very slow when it comes to daily tasks and practices. I need more focus on what IS possible, and what can I try, rather than focus on what I cannot do (yet). I fear I have been sowing the seeds of depression. That needs to stop.

      I wish you wellness and a speedy recovery. Just the fact that you are aware of sowing the seeds means that you can plant happiness seeds and joyful seeds. You also see what you want to focus on which will help you to see the goodness.

    By letting go (or trying to) of my preconceived notions and learning to be still and wait. I am seeking to be whole and undivided, to live in the now. Showing up to the now, today, moment-by-moment if necessary is how I will show up with more integrity today.

    I liked Verena’s comment about ‘checking where my motivation is coming from when acting in the world’. I think sometimes our ego and pride can get in the way of listening fully to one another and responding with deeper understanding.

I have so much admiration for this! I feel humbled just to have heard of these grand examples. So to come back to this daily question : I cannot show more integrity: in my very little scale I have acted in accordance with all of my values, bringing them together and from my heart trying to please and uplift the one closest to me. May trust increase ?
