The best is a needed walk for an errand saying a prayer. 0 Reply Malag3 months agoMalagI try out new things, skills, perspectives. I get a sense of adventure from that – more inner adventure than outer. I tend towards being humorous regularly to my benefit and I think those around me. That’s a form of playfulness I think. 2 Reply Hot Sauce3 months agoHot SauceI find playfulness and adventure in laughing at all the craziness happening in our world today. LOL. I mean, what would you do if a psychic told you that in 2020, Donald Trump, the star of The Apprentice, would be the US president; there would be a temporary toilet paper shortage because of the hysteria resulting from a major pandemic, and thousands of people would have to order TP from China; we would be in a temporary lockdown because of a pandemic; the president would endorse a doctor who thi...I find playfulness and adventure in laughing at all the craziness happening in our world today. I’d be like, “Okay…have fun tweeking somewhere else.” If you look at our world as a giant South Park episode or a video game where the trolls are just messing with everybody, it’s pretty funny! I read a post by someone who had meditated and meditated during a difficult plane flight and ended up falling back on humor to get her peace of mind back ( •̀ ω •́ )✧ 2 Reply Jes Conway3 months agoJes ConwayI am so grateful for the choking belly laughs that my co-worker and I share on a very regular basis. 4 Reply Melissa3 months agoMelissaPlaying with dogs, throwing them balls, running on the beach, hugging them, watching them sleep. Next season is but a wonderful possibility. As we live through the big Covid seasonal change, the future possibilities for my community and humanity are a joyful wonder. But it will require a lot of letting go of what was. Oh, but the possibilities! 3 Reply Nancy Walton-House3 months agoNancy Walton-HouseIn the past, I’ve found playfulness and adventure in riding my horses, walking in nature, boating, camping, travel, attending live theatre and concerts and spending time with family and friends. Due to my age – entering the 79th year of my life, minor disabilities, reduced retirement income and the pandemic, these ways of being playful and adventurous needed to be adapted. Now I enjoy being playful and adventurous by viewing British situation comedies, viewing travelogues on TV or the internet, exploring the cosmos and nature through reading and playing with our grand-dog. Sometimes we have video calls and face-to-face visits with family and friends. I remember special places and activities we enjoyed in the past too. I find I am looking at things differently and where I am seeking a place to photograph. It has become an adventure to look for new sites that will have a hidden meaning waiting for me to discover. The playfulness comes when I look at the photographs and see beyond the image to understand why it interested me enough to photograph it. Then I play with words to create a haiku to link my feelings to the picture. Maybe not the most exciting, but I sincerely doubt I will go on an African Safari to photography exotic wild animals. What I am doing makes me happy, and that is what counts. Read More3 Reply Malag3 months agoMalagThat’s a really interesting approach. Through writing, reading, connecting in meaningful, productive, educational ways on Zoom, and walks. Usually I have a much broader set of travel modes to adventure and fun, but making these ones work nonetheless. 3 Reply Arleen3 months agoArleenWe do what we can and hope for the best. 3 Reply Dusty Su3 months agoDusty SuAbsolutely! We’ve discovered our local favorites, but we like to explore areas of our large city that we’ve not seen yet. Learning to live life away from our friends and family and familiar places is … well, hard. It’s a good adventure we’re on, because we are stretching ourselves in new and often uncomfortable ways and it’s causing us to grow. For play, I have my little dog. And my crochet/knitting projects. I’m not very good at incorporating “playtime” into my daily routine, I’ll admit. I’ll try to do better. I hope things improve soon and you will enjoy meeting many new people and going to new places. 3 Reply Debra3 months agoDebraMy child-like playfulness exudes when I put on rock ‘n roll music and dance with my kitty cat. She runs to me as soon as she hears the music, jumps high on one chair getting ready to participate prancing around as I dance to my heart’s content. Goodness knows, if anyone were looking in on this (should that ever happen), would probably think I’m crazy. Maybe I am, yet I am preciously joyful in that moment, for sure. 6 Reply Zenith3 months agoZenithAt this time in history there is no playfulness or adventure. Yesterday I was away from the house for about 6 hours for the first time since Covid19 started. When I got home I realized I felt profoundly physically and mentally refreshed. It has been years since I have felt that way. It gave me energy. Although gratefulness has helped me remain positive, it has not refreshed me like I felt yesterday. I am thankful for refreshing. 5 Reply Mica3 months agoMicaThat’s wonderful, Zenith – and you can do that again! Well, since the most playful person in the house (our son) is 1,800-mile away, my husband and I play our version of “Hide & Seek” with Penny the Collie. We take a turn to hide in the yards or woods and let Penny search for one of us. We try to trick Penny by circling around or finding a new blind spot. My adventure is still in my head. I love a good pun or seeing the funny side of things. There’s nothing better than a playful and agile mind! 4 Reply Michele3 months agoMicheleI find playfulness in my life when the mood strikes me to get up and dance around the house. I love going on nature hikes – that’s a nice adventure outdoors:) This is a great reminder, especially with all of today’s stress, to always remember to find playfulness and adventure. 3 Reply Trish3 months agoTrishPlayful opportunities & adventures are everywhere. I am always on the lookout . When I walk my dog, we greet the squirrels & I make up names & stories about them: “Hi, Molly. Did you stay safe from the storm last night?” I engage with people (which is always an adventure) & learn fascinating stories. I get myself into nature where I can play in the forest, run through the meadow, & dance in the water. It’s just life: don’t take it so seriously😎 5 Reply 1 2 Next » My Private Gratitude Journal Write an entry in your private gratefulness journal Get Started This site is brought to you by A Network for Grateful Living, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
