The last time I made someone smile widely (that I am aware of) was yesterday afternoon (my friend came to visit me) and earlier this today when I showed my paintings :). I remember making someone laugh hard during my past weekend for sure. 0 Reply Malag9 months agoMalagHumour is one of my “go to’s” that I flavour most interactions with. And occasionally it rebounds on me and I am in uncontrollable paroxysms. 3 Reply TofuLove9 months agoTofuLoveI tend to make people laugh by poking fun at reality, like a photo of someone who looks like they have been run over by a bus with a wary smile and the caption: ready to rise and grind! I made a doctor laugh heartily recently by poking fun at myself and how I couldn't die as my house was too much a mess. I also tend to joke about failure, about near accidents, about loss, about being tired or wary, about things sort of cynical also ... I find I joke a lot about the darker stuff in life. I think it’s healthy to try to find the humor and lighten things a bit. I also find I just like darker humor or stuff that pokes fun at the ironic and tries to lighten the darker stuff into something less scary. When things are difficult I’ll watch some cartoons of characters being run over by trains, like Wile Coyote type stuff and it really helps me to be like, I’m gonna laugh at this and from that I feel more energy to figure things out. When I worked at a Forensic Lab we would get decomposed blood that was gassy and sometimes the top of the tubes would pop off – we would refer to that as fart blood – it smelled bad to say the least. 1 Reply MemoPC9 months agoMemoPCSharing antidotes from my family always gets a laugh especially random things grandkids say. 3 year old : mom what’s a grown-a-virus? 90 year old mother evaluating her fluid intake for the day : I had celery at lunch there is pretty much liquid in that. … Life is can be very comical. 3 Reply Hot Sauce9 months agoHot SauceMy grandma smiled when she got to see me on my birthday. There is so much negativity and stress on social media and I want to counter it. 3 Reply dcdeb9 months agodcdebThis past week i went to a hotel lobby to get some vending snacks. A woman working there directed me to go downstairs where the machine was. “Just follow the checkerboard path” , she said. I turned around and asked her if they had a yellow brick road as well. She laughed, and while i was waiting for the elevator she started singing a song from The Wizard of Oz. I felt so good after that; my mood lightened and i felt like i had made a new friend. 8 Reply Cody9 months agoCodyI am a collector of dad jokes. Every once in a while I get more than a groan from my wife: How do you think the unthinkable? An itheberg. Why does the Little Mermaid wear seashells? She outgrew her B shells. Why did Simba’s father die? Because he couldn’t Mufasa! What’s all brown and sticky? A stick. What’s brown and not as sticky? A twig. What red and sticky? Baton Rouge What’s brown and runny? But maybe that will happen today if you have time to read the following story: This happened at a New York Airport. This airline gate agent deserves an award for how she handled a passenger who probably deserved to fly as cargo. A crowded flight was canceled. A single agent was re-booking a long line of inconvenienced travelers. Suddenly, an angry passenger pushed his way to the desk. He slapped his ticket on the counter and said, “I HAVE to be on this flight and it has to be FIRST CLASS.” The agent replied, “I’m sorry, sir. I’ll be happy to try to help you, but I’ve got to help these folks first who were in front of you; and then I’m sure we’ll be able to work something out.” The passenger was unimpressed. He asked loudly, so that the passengers behind him could hear, “DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHO I AM?” Without hesitating, the agent smiled and grabbed her public address microphone. “May I have your attention, please?”, she began, her voice heard clearly throughout the terminal. “We have a passenger here at Gate 14 WHO DOES NOT KNOW WHO HE IS. If anyone can help him with his identity, please come to Gate 14”. With the folks behind him in line laughing hysterically, the man glared at the airlines agent, gritted his teeth, and said, “F*** You!” Without flinching, she smiled and said, “I’m sorry sir, you’ll have to get in line for that, too.” Life isn’t about how to survive the storm, but how to dance in the rain… Credit : Tom Anderton Posted on FaceBook by Anxiety Freedom Aug 29 2021 Read More6 Reply Payo Param Visram9 months agoPayo Param Visramkudos 2 Reply KC9 months agoKCThanks Carol! 2 Reply Blossom9 months agoBlossomI made myself laugh a minute ago trying to dance to utube video “Old Movie Stars Dance to Uptown Funk” . He smiled really big. 4 Reply Patricia9 months agoPatriciaPretty much every day, my husband and I make each other laugh with our puns or funny takes on things. And if the other one doesn’t laugh, then we’ll just laugh ourselves at our own jokes because, as we’ll say aloud, “I kill me!” 2 Reply Maurice Frank9 months agoMaurice FrankGood question, thanks. Yesterday when out with my neighborhood beer group my friend Bob sitting across from me said something like nothing works right in this country and I replied the trains don’t run on time either and he laughed which makes me happy. 3 Reply Mary Pat9 months agoMary PatI like this question. It is positive and brings up good memories…. My son was over yesterday, and I said something that made him smile widely and left him in a very good place. And last night when I showed my husband a funny picture on FB. And our dog, Joy, when I go out and throw the ball for her to retrieve. THAT is a smile! 5 Reply Kevin9 months agoKevinLove this, Mary Pat! Because of my back issues I am on the floor several times throughout the day doing stretches and our dog, Gracie, always comes over and often decides that I need to be cleaned up by licking me! But she also, like your dog, frequently has an expression with her mouth that I swear is a smile for sure! 5 Reply Mary Pat9 months agoMary PatYep! When Joy smiles, there is no hesitation or sneer involved…there is just pure…well…joy!!! 3 Reply Holly in Ohio9 months agoHolly in OhioI try to do this daily. The entrenched are sometimes annoyed.
