How am I being invited to spread my wings right now?

    I’ve just begun my fieldwork placement as I continue to prepare for diaconal ordination. I’m nervous about the unknown & mostly unbelievably excited to soak up all the goodness.

    This is my opportunity to open myself to all kinds of experiences. When I stay open & don’t shut myself down because of fear (mostly fear of failure) then I fly. This is how I’m choosing to enter into this new experience. So much richness……

    By watching the sun get over the horizon, seeing (and hearing) flocks of Canada geese flying overhead towards their winter homes down south as I am meditating. Perhaps this is a signal to open my wings for the new day, let the difficulties of yesterday pass and move on to better fields.

    Stepping up and embracing the life I have. Being integrated and present. Allowing that what happens each day is part of my being a student. Focus on the essentials and acting in and out of alignment with my values.

    As the sun is rising, this new day invites me to spread my wings and fly high into adventures, opportunities , peace and joy.

    I have been trying to decide if I should undertake a new career path, I have visited an idea, moved away from it and revisited on many occasions. But now I have chosen to do it and with the support of my family and friends I feel confident, excited and free. Today I will be completing an application for year one of a three year journey to becoming a counsellor. Nervous and anxious but I have a smile on my face and in my heart and trust that it is the right thing to do.

    How am I being invited to spread my wings right now? At the moment, my wings are spread wide, and gliding along on the currents of the moment. Not quite sure yet where I will land.
