I love this memory from my family life, me and my wife were talking in the livingroom and we noticed that we didn’t hear my daughter in the other room, so, we went into the kitchen and my daughter Danielle had taken out several pots from the lower kitchen cabinets in preparation for making dinner with a big smile on her face only equaled by ours; it is life- there is nothing other. What inspires me more than the wonder and awe I see, feel, communicate, evoke? The studies of the Gods, Prophets, Great Saints, etc.; and sometimes Saints and everyday Saints as well. Lao Tzu is often quoted for saying, “a journey of a 1000 miles begins with one step”; which is a fallacious translation- he was not communicating an arithmatic problem solved, there’s only 999999999999.9 more steps to go. A more accurate translation would be, “a journey of a 1000 miles is in the first step”. The first step of a child, that is raised with love and security, not numbed and dumbed down by rote and regurgitation of info. in public schools, etc.. Maybe a better question would be, ‘Serve to inspired, i am how?’ May this New Year find you new everyday all the way through 🙂 reality Read More5 Reply reality1 year agorealityGreat work so far. Still, it might get down to a moment at a time again and remembering that you did the last moment without substance crutches informs you that you can will yourself to do this moment without them. Best of luck and work to you; Happy New Year 🙂 reality 1 Reply Samuel1 year agoSamuelAman, just know that I, and, I’m sure, many others, are and will continue to pray for your full recovery. God has gifted you a second chance. Honor Him by helping others to escape their demons as well by being a powerful role model of recovery for them… sb 3 Reply sunnypatti1 year agosunnypattiBlessings to you, Aman. Surrounding myself with good people helps. This community also helps and I am grateful for it. 5 Reply csalt1 year agocsaltReading Pope Frances apostolic Christmas Letter ( several times over) is a huge inspiration, comfort and support. Having been ill over Christmas and struggled with my prayer life, Pope Frances letter has helped me enormously to understand better the miracle of God’s Love in the Incarnation of His beloved Son through the Holy Spirit. 5 Reply Drew Blanton1 year agoDrew BlantonI serve through the arts. 4 Reply Ose1 year agoOseWith all my heart, to help unfold life and spirit wherever I am or might be, hopefully being able of serving to the best of my ability through being there for others in need, serve health of my fellow people and, so I do hope, more and more through substantial unfolding of spirit, if it may be, with support and guidance of universal love, if possible. 3 Reply Kevin1 year agoKevinHow am I inspired to serve? Oh gosh. I hope, and I pray, that I might be inspired to serve by the grace and will of the Holy Spirit. Some days that clarity arrives without effort or knowledge on my part. Other days, the lack of clarity is wanting, though reminding me always that I’m on God’s time here, not mine. 8 Reply Bonnie Oster1 year agoBonnie OsterAmen! Just follow the Holy Spirit and all will be well! Happy New Year! 0 Reply Katrina1 year agoKatrinaI resonate with Cathy who said when she gets in a loop of “self” she knows it’s time to serve others. That’s my story. And every single time I reach out to serve – visiting in the hospital, nursing home, volunteering in the Food Pantry or Thrift Store or spending time with children in some way – every single time I think, “Why don’t I do this all the time?” 6 Reply Mica1 year agoMica‘a loop of “self”‘ – thank you, Kathy – and Cathy! What a lovely image! I’ll try to be aware of that in myself. Hugs to all ! 2 Reply Ann1 year agoAnnTo be honest, somewhere in childhood, I developed a belief that “though I wasn’t wanted, at least I could be of service”. Appreciative acceptance gave me a sense of belonging. Even though I recognize that being-of-service has been a way of life for me in order to engender a sense of belonging, THE PURE JOY I feel when helping others makes being-of-service, in itself, totally worthwhile.. 8 Reply Palm1 year agoPalmDear Ann, thanks for putting this into words, I appreciate reading what I could not articulate. Blessings 0 Reply Ann1 year agoAnnThank you, Palm, for your comment. With appreciation, Ann 1 Reply Trish1 year agoTrishThe world inspires me~the opportunities to serve are abundant. Everywhere I look there are things to do, words to say, people to love……God does a great job of reminding me what my responsibilities are. I hope to listen more attentively ❤️ 5 Reply Antoinette1 year agoAntoinetteI’m inspired to serve in anyway I can! I love to serve others. May 2020 be a year of loving kindness and compassion. All need attention and are equally fulfilling when given as the giver and as the receiver. 8 Reply GCharlotte1 year agoGCharlotteI am in inspired to serve through my trust in God and my perseverance with my family. 5 Reply 1 2 Next » My Private Gratitude Journal Write an entry in your private gratefulness journal Get Started This site is brought to you by A Network for Grateful Living, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
