I try to reach out to them, offer assistance and if they accept, I continue being there, listening and understanding. 5 Reply Ashish1 year agoAshishI feel generous when I see a lack in the other side, something I have another person doesn’t have, or when another person is in a helpless situation and it requires our help or assistance. We can bring forth our generous self by thinking how lucky we are in our life and think that for others to feel happiness we need to share whatever we have, whether it is money or food or emotional support. 6 Reply Gregoire1 year agoGregoireHowie, That is so admirable and yet another example of living gratitude. I myself wrestle constantly with finding that contentment. I find myself only feeling generous with my excess. I will meditate on this one all through the course of the day. TY and may God continue to Bless you. 3 Reply Kevin1 year agoKevinI hope what I am about to write doesn’t sound conceited, but I believe that I both feel and outwardly act generous across the board regardless of the day or setting. I can afford to be moderately generous, within reason, for a retired person. I find too, having a heart that others, hopefully, experience as generous, is actually liberating to my own heart and soul. Besides, it’s the only way that I know how to live. The only thing that I am not generous with are my Hershey Almond Nuggets. I also try to do that throughout the year as well. By being authentic and true to myself and caring for others my most generous self appears:) 3 Reply Howie Geib1 year agoHowie GeibAny and all circumstances that result in a deep awareness of the abundance I am surrounded by. For I am truly getting more out of this (life) than I am putting into it. From this position generosity is natural and unforced, as I have an awareness of having more than enough and plenty to share. This is all accomplished by an attitudinal shift within myself. It is, in my probably inaccurate assessment, a proper act of the will. 7 Reply Kevin1 year agoKevinBeautifully said, Howie.
